Is this guy good enough to be first choice?

I haven't seen any pre season so I would be interested in peoples opinions

When he signed I thought he was going to be second choice and that we would have another new face on loan or otherwise as our number one?

Its hard to tell, the Valladolid game yeasterday was the first time i've seen him and he didn't have an awful lot to do. He's a good height and he claimed every called for and claimed every cross he could and was always talking to his defenders - loudly. His distribution was well varied, he's left footed and has a good flat kick as well as a strong arm. Can't really comment on whether or not he has the knack of pulling off good saves though.

all i know is he can catch and kick a ball. from what i have seen

Catch and kick? thats ok then he will do All gk's can shot save,its kicking/catching thats been the problem with our recent keepers.

I have seen him twice and both times I was impressed, he has a good kick and is good at coming to claim corners. I didn't think he would be no 1 when I first seen that we had signed him but maybe he will be.

Saw him at Chesterfield and didn't have anything to do. His kicking was good though and he seemed to command his area well (lots of shouting)

This is something that has been missing in recent years. The last vocal Goalie I can rememebr was Tim Flowers.

A goalie that can communicate well with his defenders will cut out the number of shots etc he has to save, so looks like he isn't that busy.
