Another issue is that digital access enables the club to monitor you. They'll know what time you arrive etc. Maybe they'll also be able to farm your phone for info.

Other clubs have already reported that clubs are using this data to challenge them on their attendance records and threatening to remove season tickets if they miss a number of games.

Hold on a sec. What?
Ok I read it wrong.

They’re going to make my perfectly fine card that is in working order, inoperative in order to force my hand in buying a replica card that works for £25.

The fact that many have not witnessed queue delays does not mean they have not happened. Personally I have seen delays through mobile use at least four times.

Why can’t they just charge people who need new cards?

The point is that they’re not sending out new cards. They’re going to charge us £25 a year to use our current cards.

It takes me no longer to use my card than a phone, it’s going to cost the club zero extra for me to use my current card, yet they’re just going to take £25 from me.

It’s bullshit.
Yeah I get it, I really do. It's not strictly true that it won't cost them any extra however, it will but like I say £25 is too steep. I just don't understand such a fuss over something so tiny. If it takes you no longer and you don't have carry your card around with you or worry about forgetting it and it is easier to give someone else your ticket, then what's the problem?

If people want to keep their cards that's fine but it'll more than likely be the last season this will be an option. Just bite the bullet of the inevitable and save yourself £25 that you're choosing to pay.

They do that anyway. It makes no difference whether it is cards, paper tickets or digital access.

You give up far for of your data just going on social media or Google.

I don't think it's unreasonable for clubs to want to learn about there fans behavior

You can’t simultaneously say you get it then say just pay it.

£25 is just cash

Getting ****ed over at every corner because you as a consumer don’t really have a choice is not. This is the problem.

I said don't pay it. Other than that though....

Why should fans be forced to pay to access a service that they’ve happily accessed for years without having to pay?

Corporate lunacy. Any other industry and customers would be moving elsewhere.

You're not being forced to pay anything extra to enter the ground and watch the service you have paid for. If you want to continue using an antiquated system, you can do so. It'll cost you £25 which is daft but no more daft than folk who choose to pay it so that they can have a smashing plastic card that does nothing more and a lot less than their phone.

Just don't pay it. Simple.

Perhaps I’m misreading you. But - whilst I can understand that no one is being forced to pay anything at all - you can always not renew after all - can you not see why this is seen as a negative to fans?

It isn’t just the £25. It’s the **** you to the fans because either you’ll do it the club’s way or you give them more money.
And that’s that.

With this, and memberships, can you really not see the problem?

Membership is a different issue and one I think the club has ****ed up on year after year. Yes, I can see why some fans may be annoyed about digitalisation, but the reaction is massively disproportionate. It's a card. That's it.

You got something to hide?

Fans Groups are meeting with the club tomorrow night to discuss the charge for physical cards

We issued a statement soon after the club announced the prices/cost of the physical card

The members survey has a closure date of next Sunday, then we will be sharing the results with the club and on our website, but will give an indication on the numbers to date at tomorrows meeting

Why are fans' groups meeting to discuss, after the changes have been made? Were you locked out of the initial consultation?
