Little unfair, it was the previous regime that agreed the spec for the new stadium.

I just find it a little strange that they say its not up to spec, then they try and organise a concert (with a woeful line up - sorry Lazz) and then because its a flop they go back to the line about it being not up to standard.... very very odd :icon_roll

i dont dislike them but i wouldnt have gone i was hoping for

bon jovi
u2
robbie williams
chilli peppers
kasabian

somebody to fill it and earn the club some money plus me and duzza would have made a killing on the t shirts ;) :icon_lol:

Status Quo were never going to sell enough tickets to make it a goer, whoever sanctioned it deserves shooting ( can't remember his name, but I think he left the club ). BTW, Cate & Co are right, Kasabian would sell over 10,000 tickets easily.

i think the club also has problems though in the stadium location-its not got easy access to it for parking etc and isn't that near the train station-however i think if we wanted we could of easily pipped cov or derby to get the chili peppers this summer

I think that was a legacy of Mr Paul Mace.

IMO that is the main problem. I said it in the original thread. Access to and from our ground is diabolical. As DD pointed out, it wouldn't stop us getting gigs, but why would we get them when cov are 30 seconds of the M6 and 20 minutes away

its time like this when i think we should of moved to an out of city location to be honest

The only problem I would bring up, is that it might have affected our attendances - I like grounds that are not in the middle of nowhere.

The best place for access would have been on the A46 near the Bentley garage, access from everywhere.

But has Shazza poins out, for away fans, and our fans that arrive by train, getting to the ground would have been a nightmare

True. A few days ago people were getting apoplectic at the thought of rugby at the ground, now its "lets have the ground in the middle of nowhere so its easy for some music fans to get to". Never mind all the people who go to football matches & use public transport or walk. It would be the end of attracting kids to go unless their parents were regular attenders, and pre & post match socialising would be at an end as everyone was driving - even if there were any pubs & restaurants near.

Ever been to the Reebock?

im not saying the middle of nowhere though-i think we should have moved to somewhere with better road access, and a bus service for anyone who arrived in the city from the train station-also an out of city location would mean greater parking space surely?
