relegation here we come we cant even stop a bunch of slovenian farmers scoring againest us, my god this is probably the worst side since last season

:104::002:

To be fair these Slovenian farmers were almost certainly given the week end off from early harvesting duties in order to prepare for this game. So they will have been well up for it - especially as they will have seen this match as a chance in a lifetime to play against a top English professional club.

I don't want to be in any way negative but i just think it might have been better to build up a winning mentality through some easier pre-season fixtures - maybe starting with Oadby Owls under 13's?

It was sarcasm. Rudonja is considered very fast. To his and our regret that's the only positive attribute he has as a striker.

Your central defenders are typically British, slow and strong, in Slovenia we would use that kind of people only as woodcutters and not for playing football. We repeated the same action some 10 times, a long through ball behind the defense for Rudonja to run on it, in first instances we scored but later on a (faster) black right back got the duty to cover him.

Hello igor. :039: :039: :039:

Very funny. Our players came from Austria were they had basic preseason preparation a day before and were visibly tired/not fresh.

Many of our players did indeed play against top European professional clubs while they were younger and played abroad, some of them played EC and WC, when Slovenia qualified for both competitions. Your players didn't look like having much experience of playing at either level, against top English pro clubs, continental clubs or NT.

Soon we may meet again. We're heading to First Slovenian division, and in some 2-3 years will probably qualifying to at least UEFA cup. We may met again in some official game. NOT!

We currently have Mattock and Chambers, who should be two of the best left backs in the division. I know Chambers is right footed, but he's still a good left back.
If Mattock leaves I'm sure we'll get a replacement, but we already have the biggest squad in the division so I wouldn't expect many more arrivals without players leaving first. There's still plenty of time for that to happen.

I think he's a good right back but not a left back.We need a left back who is left footed simple as,all this making do with a right back at left back needs to stop IMO.Mattock will be gone so he doesn't count.

Yes, I did found you, but you found us maneuviring through texts in Slovenian language, which is a bigger achievement.

Anyway, some of you are too pessimistic and too easily inclined to panic. It was just the beginning of preseason for you, just a training match, no wonder your club hid the fact that the game was open to public, probably the coach wanted to play the game in peace without fans' pressure.

Anyway I stayed at the stadium nearly after everybody was gone. An English speaking guy in stadium signalled the coach to come closer, and when he did come closer he asked: "So you are not satisfied with the game?", the coach did some unpleasant gesture with the lips (as when you blow air and the lips are trembling), but noticed me staying by and after a second continued "no, no it was Ok". Anyway I removed myself, to allow them to talk in private, nice guy as I am.

Igor, greetings - my sarcasm was aimed at our players rather than yours.

Some of our players too in their younger days played proper football but based on last season seem to have forgotten that.

Best wishes and good luck to you and your team next season.

From Monster Mash a one hit wonder from the 70's by Bobby "Boris" Pickett

I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise

He did the mash
He did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
He did the mash
It caught on in a flash
He did the mash
He did the monster mash

That was the start of the song later it goes into the following

The scene was rockin', all were digging the sounds
Igor on chains, backed by his baying hounds
The coffin-bangers were about to arrive
With their vocal group, "The Crypt-Kicker Five"

OK, I think I get it. There's a servent Igor in Dracula (or Frankestein) movies, and for you guys that's the association when you hear the name. For us that's a normal name like John, and nobody in his sane mind would connect that name to Dracula (or Frankestein). Until they see me in person, of course.

@Redditch fox
it's OK, no offense taken and hope that goes both ways.

Thats it:icon_bigg
Igor was usually an ugly hunchback or with another deformity with a bad leg who used to drag with his foot around the lab and talk with strange lisp out of a mouth with too many teeth.:icon_eek:

You will no doubt be more of a catch for the ladees:icon_bigg

I think igor puts some of our English thickies to shame with the standard of English in his posts.

I think there was some kind of misunderstanding on your staff's part about against whom they played. We are very atypical case, one and only in the world, and we are heading directly to Guiness book of records.

We are hystorically the best Slovenian club. In 2005 the club was disbanded (stopped competing) due to severe financial problems. New club was formed, with the same name, in that year and started in lowest Slovenian divison (5th level). Ex legends of old Olimpija came out of retirement and helped the team as players, some of those grandpas are still playing today for us, in the 5th division all our players were around 40, but now we are a mixture of grandpas and young players (btw, we didn't loose a game in 5th divsion, even in the cup we lost the game on penalties after we draw in 90minutes against a 2nd division team). Anyway every year we won our division and got promoted, currently we are in the 2nd level, but we will win it too and finally come back to the first division (first level). I don't believe there's any club on this planet, who started at the lowest level of football competition, get promoted every year to come in the highest level at the shortest possible time.

I think when your staff saw the date births of our players and saw some of them on the pitch, they thought they were playing against some clowns and were underestimating the opponent. But those grandpas still have a lot to show, a lot of them were part of the Slovenian golden generation that qualified to both EC and WC. We have a very fat legend (Kitič), he's able to only play some 20 minutes, but believe he really does have technical skills. When he entered in the game as a sub as a striker, you got a corner kick, and the 2 fullbacks stayed behind, and when they saw him entering there were some jaw dropping. I really hoped that he would come into the chance where he would be left one-on-one with a defender, but it didn't happened, there would be some surprise for your side. The second goal we scored directly from the corner kick, your guys probably thought that was a fluke, but no, Pavlin (an important part of the golden generation) scored his share of goals from corners in lower divisions, and it was obvious to us that he'll try it in the last minutes. He caught the goalkeeper by surprise (even though it's hard to tell if the shot went directly in goal sweeping gk's hands or bounced off some defender's back and then through surprised gk hands).

And about those longballs we repeatedly used, they weren't the classical longballs, when you kick the ball and wait what happens or hope that Drogba catches it, those were all quite accurate instant passes. One may be in his late thirties, but still retain this skill. As we say it "He may be slow, but more importantly his ball is damn fast".

OK, that's it guys. Our clubs met, we introduced ourselves, and I'll check Division One from time to time. It's not hard to guess who I support in England from now on.

Igor, do you get Monster Munch in Slovenia?
If so, what's your favourite flavour?
