I don't think City are helping them out, lets not be fooled by this, if they were they'd buy the poor buggers a turkey or something or pay their heating bills over Christmas They probably aren't city fans anyway, just gives them a day out. Nice, but no fecking help whatsoever. Nice bit of publicity though.

If this was a genuine attempt at helping them and not a publicity stunt, why did we need to know about it via the club website.

I believe in dealing with what is in front of me rather making assumptions about people's motives. People will disappoint me and rip me off they frequently do but for so little reward I wonder why they did it in the first place.

It would seem to me that the Club could get good publicity if their motives are as you describe them or if the motive was just to give a lift to someone who is feeling a bit down at the moment. :102: :102:

Yep, I see that and I hadn't looked at it that way. Did we need to know though?

That's where the cynic in both of us can be seen. ;) The answer is of course, no. However other companies have let their own charitable/kindly/fulfilling the planning requirements deeds be known so why not City. :102: ;)

Any organisation can buy a list of farepack customers, you can bet they are getting mailers from barclaycard et al right now....

Why would the club buy a list of names and addresses then send out a mailshot to thousands of people, when they could publicise it for free instead?
If they did that people would moan about the club wasting money.

They could chose LE postcodes if they wanted.
I'm not making recommendations just adding to the discussion about doing it privately....

Not everyone has a bank account - and even if they do, they might not have the means to make regular deposits. For some people the only way they can 'save' is if an agent collects a couple of pounds a week from them.

But they would still be better off if they could be educated to put that little bit away in a savings account - better off and more secure.

.

Crikey, can't we all go back to arguing about whether MM is going to ruin the club or not?

If you work it out, it only affects about 25 city non season tickets holders, who if they have their wits about them can get a ticket for the game for £5 anyway.
