He's a left back, what people were asking for. On loan. What do people expect? Apparently Cashley wasn't prepared to take the wage cut. I do despair at times, I really do.

But no one has criticised that RS

People are just saying they've never heard of him.

Do you want me to lie about it and say how great I think it is ?

Feckin' hell, what a great signing :038:

We all know we need a left sided player, and this is just the feckin' ticket

Get in there !!

I like i when we sign players I'm not familiar with, as I find it distinctly underwhelming when we sign Shaun Newton or Riccardo Scimeca, or John Curtis. Better the devil you don't know.

apologies didnt see the other thread (just paper talkthen) would make sense, i think weve ben linked with him before (while at Stoke) was on loan at Covscum last season !, it would enable Mattock to play left mid and Newton over to the right (if Kaibbi not fit)

No, it's just a slight burn

:icon_lol:

I know about Clive Clarke.

He is a solid, experienced player at this level who plays on the left side... and that is exactly what we need right at this moment.

He was Stokes captain and very highly rated there. A number of clubs were interested in signing him and he ended up at Sunderland who, i think were a premiership club at the time. It hasn't worked out for him there and he was on loan with Cov last season.

He is no world beater but he would do a job for us there, of that I am fairly sure. I am pleased with the fact we have FINALLY signed an experienced left back (if it happens!).

never heard of the bloke but from what ive read on here he seems at least worth a go.

right age right amount of experience. I think hes a good player. He had a stint at West Ham as well if I am not mistaken.

Really happy (if this signing is true) that we have addressed the left back problem with someone who can hit the ground running so to speak.

He's a natural left back, and I for one am glad. For 3 seasons we have played without one, so hooray. Be happy to see Mattock play left midfield as well now. Good move in my opinion and we have nothing to lose with it being a loan.

Yep... Went to Sunderland as part of the deal that took George McCartney to West Ham.

A mate of mine who supports Sunderland says Clarke is pretty crap... came in when McCartney moved on, played a few games and then hasn't really featured all that much since.
I'll reserve judgement though.
