Just run this query and see how many games he has ruined and how many managers have complained about him. It is not sour grapes as there so many complaints but rather his level of competence that is at issue. It is a complete joke that this guy can continue to referee games. :icon_conf :icon_conf :icon_conf :102: :102:

I think if you look at some colchester sites they also stated that the ref was out of his depth and crap. With both sides and some comentators saying the same I tend to think that he was crap. Again a ref gives a penalty thayt turns the game. I agree that we should have gone on and try to win the game but it put doubts into everybody's mind with not knowing what the ref was going to do.

I also thought it was against FA rules for a team to have standing now? Didn't a team get prevented from being promoted from the Conference for sub-par stadium?

Clubs coming up from a lower division have a set time to provide the extra facilities that the higher division requires.

Colchester have already got planning permission for a new ground to the north of the town. Its building has been until recently delayed by a condition in the planning permission that it can't be built before a new junction is made off the A12. Only last week that condition was removed and they are now appointing contractors.

Just saw the goals and the red card farce, we deserved 3 points...rubbish referee...awful.

If anyone saw the championship this morning there was a good piece on Cadamatrie(sp?). I really hope the lad can do well and prove himself.

Where did you see the "red card farce"? Disappointingly it wasn't on the Championship.

I've got to say that I thought that the penalty decision was probably correct. The view on the Championship can only be said to be inconclusive with the damage being done before the cameras managed to get there. If you are looking for somebody to blame for the penalty, I suggest that you look no further than Paddy McCarthy - how many more free-kicks and penalties are going to be given against him before he realises that he can't keep on giving opponents a 'little tug'?

That said, the referee was indeed appalling. Last season he was doing Conference games and yesterday's was a stage too high. The SEVEN yellow cards were an obscenity in a game which was played in a good spirit throughout. I would have thought that the 'red card farce' will be his undoing and must surely come to the attention of the authorities.

I saw the farce on Sky Sports News. Very very cringe worthy

Disagree with you on the penalty I have seen it a few times on sky sports and on the championship and for me it was a dive.

I already said something about Paddy doing that all the time...as much as I love Paddy(in a totally lustful way:biggrin: ) the way he defends by grabbing hold of players shirts all the time makes me cringe.

It sounded like the ref had a shocker, and he cost us a goal. But he didn't make our forwards miss 2 or 3 chances and he didn't tell Rob Kelly not to do anything about it until the 600th minute.

The game was in our hands, when we lost the lead we should have been all out attack to get it back again. I know it's difficult to judge when not at the game, but that's how I see it. As Taggart said, our heads went down after the dodgy decision. Well IMO this attitude is the difference between success and failure, and as long as we have this attitude, failure is looming. We threw in the towel

We needed to win, the game was there to win, we could have won, we didn't win. Again.

Disappointed
Couldn't agree more. So what if the ref's a useless tosser? They're supposed to be professional footballers. Deal with it.

the ref is the reason we didn't win today...

But thats not to say it was the refs fault,it may well have been but we seem quick to blame the ref.It seems theres a moan about the Ref every saturday

Just watched the game on the championship shokin desision paddy was no way near iwelumo. but we should have killed the game off and we got punished
We had enough possession in the first half, but did not create enough chances. So what if the ref and lino disallowed two goals? Three serious efforts in 45 minutes is not good enough, especially given the way we were playing and the possession we had. Instead, they let it get to them, and in the second half, normal service was more or less resumed. You can't blame the officials for that.

It was a shit point. I don't care about the circumstances or statistics, Again, we lost a lead and didn't appear to chase it. Not good enough

In the pre-match thread, I was in a small minority that thought we should win this game because Colchester are really not going to finish in the play offs and in my opinion will be lucky to finish in the top half...but I suspected that we wouldn't be positive enough and would settle for a point. And so it goes on.

You have to expect one or two dodgy decisions especially away from home and I agree with you that we should have chased the game.

All these drawn games are pretty useless given the points system and it all points to needing a new manager with a a bit about him to provide the impetus.

But if you look at thier record at home it wasn't.Whatever the score its clear to see that we aren't good enough but just taking the result on its own and if neuteral looked at both teams form annd position's in the table then he/her would say that a point away from home against a team who have the best home record in the League is a good point.

Just trying to catch up after a weekend laid up with flu and this really is boll**k HF. You seem to be saying that if we outplay a team but then c**k it up and come away with a draw it is a good result if they are higher up the table than we are. A draw is a fair result if both sides are evenly matched and a good result if you manage a draw having played worse than the opposition. Relative league position has nothing to do with it, performance on the day has. From what I've read Saturday's result was a poor one for us and a good one for Colchester. Another nail in RK's coffin I fear!
