We've scored 43 league goals in our last 45 league games. When we concede, we're beat.

We have decent enough forwards at the club. Our defence is perfectly adequate. Our keeper is ok.

Our midfield is a total wasteland. Fecking idiots the lot of 'em. I haven't seen one proper midfield performance from any of our lot for years. They are all useless.

The many and various Manager's are only partly responsible for that. If Mad Mandy and his cronies hadn't blown the season's budget on dodgy deals with dodgy Agents all summer (in positions we didn't need), we wouldn't be in this mess.

IH would be acquitted of blame by any sensible jury.

Was IH brought to City to perpetuate the status quo or to make a difference? :102:

But he has brought in a midfield in January, admittedly not as much as he wanted as he was trying to get another centre mid and wingers, but even so we do at least have a midfield now..

Hopefully Sinclair will be here soon though, and we'll have another option on the wing at least.

Sorry, must have got confused by this

but if it's not a Holloway out thread then that's okay ;)

Not sure about the Watford game... what was the score last time we played them? I can't remember ;)

Make your fecking mind up. :102:

When we are in the 3 Rd. Division you can use that argument to your heart's content. Meanwhile focus on the problem in front of you. Do either of you play for City? :102:

I want to wonder out loud how disastrous it might be to continue with Holloway. :102:

But how disastrous would it be to get rid of him?

One of the reasons why we're in the position we're in is because we've had no continuity. We've changed managers at least once a season for the last few years, and each manager brings their own players in and we end up with unsettled players which affects the spirit in the squad.

If we get rid of Holloway the only managers willing to take the job will be rejects from other clubs, or untried managers willing to take a risk for the money.

Fans and chairmen are too impatient for success these days, but it's rare that success is instant, it takes longer than a couple of months to build a team.

Holloway's results have been crap so far, and he may not be the right man for the job. But getting rid of him now is not going to make the situation any better, it's likely to just make it worse.

If our points per game ratio under Holloway continues until the end of the season we won't go down. If we get someone else in things will just be even more unsettled and anything could happen.

You were right last season about the number of points required to stay up, so I am loathe to argue with you on that front. :icon_wink

However all I want to do is ask is what could the cost be of doing nothing and ask whether IH was brought in to make a difference, and if so, what difference has he made and and whether someone else couldn't/will have the same impact more quickly. :102:

Something bothers me and thats the state of the pitch. Up until the last home game I never thought the pitch was bad but pretty good by the standards of other pitches around. The state of the pitch stops the players performing to their best ability, and so then teams such as Plymouth can now beat us.
If I were IH I would get the pitch looked at first, whilst trying to get rid of more shite out of the team. But why the sudden demise od the pitch?

oh and fcuk that sam Allerdice or however you spell him bloody name

Someone needs to tell alnwick that the midfield can do **** all if the ball spends the majority of its time flying over their heads!

The Manager? :102:
Don't be so bloody stupid!!!

It's the Manager's job to whore himself in front of anybody with a notebook or camera and say "Alwnick kicks the ball too far, I know that, that's why I've been brought here".

It isn't, and I repeat "ISN'T" his job to fix it. It's his job to identify the problem and then scratch his fcuking head while the BMs find a reasonable excuse to cover his arse.

Teams don't normally need the excuse of a crap pitch to beat us at the WS.

What argument were we making in those posts you quoted?

We're trying to work out if you're actually saying you want Holloway gone or not!

We've gone through about 371 managers in the last couple of years... why do people still seem to think that bringing in manager number 372 will suddenly make us a good team?

I am just finishing my second bottle of Lanson Black Label, and it makes things look better than they are. Rotherham beat us on a perfect pitch i remember.

I opened with a premise which serves as an opening gambit and may or may not survive the full scrutiny of debating rigour. To be clear, I want the real IH to step up to the plate and perform or move on.

Moreover the argument that we have had 371 or 372 managers since this time last year is a sterile one if none of them can make a difference to City.

Come MM do the right thing and get Sam Allardyce in. Ian Holloway couldn't manage his way out of a wet paper bag, so we need the best Manager available and that has to be big Sam.

MM, if you want to go down in history as the man that took City down to the lower leagues then stick with Holloway. If you want effectiveness then hire someone effective. If you don't, you are just pouring money down the drain. :icon_conf

IF THIS ISNT AN IH OUT THREAD I DONT KNOW WHAT IS:bang:

you want to make up your mind :102:

I've got to the point where I would like to the back of Holloway. Not because of losing games, but because of the rubbish tactics and his arrogance to not change. When we play the ball on the floor we look good, then Hollowhead tells the players to lift it over the top, so don't blame Alnwick for doing as he is told. We still need to be playing 5 in midfield as MON proved is the best tactic for this league. Holloway has bought in some midfielders, only once has he actually started with two wingers. Did any one else notice how well we play with N'Gotty between McAuley and Kisnorbo ? Strange that this so called manager can't see it, or maybe he can, but it's not how he likes to play. A prem manager said the other week, ''A manager has to change his tactics to suit the players he has'' not expect the players to change to suit his prefered style.
My choice would be Kevin Blackwell !!

Let's get rid of Holloway and employ our next one on a rolling one match contract, with renewal based on winning his game in charge.

This would, at a stroke, eliminate all this mindless chit-chat that follows every defeat.

The last thing this club needs is a new manager. We've changed again and again and we can all see the effect it has. It hasn't worked.

I'm saying this deliberately after a couple of defeats so no one can accuse me of mongying. I'm one hundred percent behind Holloway.

Not because of his repartee but because I like the way, as manager, he's trying to take the club.
