When he joined we still had the points deduction looming over us, realistically I don't think we could have done any better than Cooper at the time, and also in the transfer market. Under those expectations and circumstances I think he has done as well as could be expected.

Obviously things have changed, and our ambitions and options are better now. Assuming we already have sounded out a decent candidate and we are able to spend in January then it's probably for the best.

Historically, it's been proven time and time again that the "new manager bounce" is simply a team reverting to its median position based on the quality of its squad (which is invariably linked to the total salaries).

It's hard to argue that we still have one of the worst squads in the league. Probably bottom 5, and maybe bottom 3 (alongside the other newly promoted teams).

Essentially, whilst Cooper was taking us nowhere and was rightly sacked, the new manager is going to have to get the team playing above its ability to have much chance of staying up. (And we'll likely be dependent on Vardy being wheeled out for at least 20+ matches...)

I’ve no issue with players going out after a defeat. For many, it’s only a job to them. I’d like to think that as young men, they have a balanced life of work and play. Can’t berate some 20 something year old millionaires for spending a Saturday night clubbing.

Definitely Winks and Coady there but I’m not sure how the players have just sort of ****ed off to Copenhagen. I mean, it’s not far, and I’ve been guilty of an impromptu trip to Europe to get hammered for the weekend, however, it just seems odd to happen so randomly. At the start of the lead up to the busy period and after a defeat (I’d assume the manager would “ok” a weekend away).

Unless they knew he’d be sacked in the morning, or Cooper had no authority there.
Or maybe it was pre-authorised for someone’s birthday. The Enzo sign is hilarious. There’s no way there’s this level of disrespect unless Cooper just didn’t have a grasp of the players. Either that or they knew he was leaving and were delighted!!

The only other thing I can think of is that this was before they came back from the international break. In which case the Enzo sign is even worse!!! Even if they hated Cooper and knew on Saturday that he’d be gone, it’s just disrespectful. Oh well. They’re 25. It’s part and parcel

Whinging about aircon & wifi? What are you, ****ing 12 year olds? Get a grip & ****ing grow up. If it's true they can all **** off to Stoke first thing as far as I'm concerned.

As for the thing about being hard to impress, well, I've been singularly unimpressed by most players at this club for a fair while now.

A large number of them have managed to :

a) Get us relegated despite being better equipped to survive than at least half a dozen other clubs.

b) Almost manage to chuck away a massive lead & **** up automatic promotion despite being the best side in a very weak championship

c) Be embarrassingly shite in almost every game this season.

As much as Cooper needed to go, if any of this stuff is actually true it's hard for me to see where this bunch of wankers get off being unimpressed by anyone. They need to massively up their own game before they have any right to that attitude.

Whoever comes in needs to make it their first order of business to point this out to them.

I suppose in that regard RvN would be the best option. A bloke who, as a player, was at a hugely higher level than any of them have ever achieved or likely ever will, except for Vardy.
I suspect Moyes would have no problem dishing out the home truths but whether the bellends would listen is debatable.

Anyway, bring it on. Whoever it is I hope he's a massive **** as that seems to be what we need.
