I was on a coach on the way to Swansea to watch Leic play Glamorgan in the Gillette cup semi finals. Game was washed out and we didn’t see a ball played.
To cap it all off, they played the next day and we lost
I was 1 year old and probably shit myself. Tough times.

The magnificent Quincy Jones passed away recently.
He wrote and produced so many wonderful and brilliant pieces of music, a lot that is not my cup of tea, but still top quality.

WFMU played this the other day and I couldn't get it out of my head.
Stupendous stuff. RIP Quincy.

Quincy was a Legend
One of my favourite LP's was his "Dude" LP from the early 80's and this track below with Vocals by Patti Austin ❤️ was one of the best on there.Played it to death back then and still done recently 🎶💃

Right. A month or so, I heard a tune (from 1975) that I'd never heard before - and I liked it.
It is VERY American Southern Rock. Good old boys, never meaning no harm. It's by Outlaws and called Green Grass & High Tides (it's a classic to Americans that like that sort of thing.

Anyway, after a beer, I like to play along to the odd tune or two, and when searching for it on YouTube I found this video..... I was stunned into silence.

You may not appreciate the song, or the video, but I love it.

Jebus, how good are they? Reckon they’ve got pretty decent careers in front of them

That video is from 6 years ago. Audrey (guitar) was 14-ish, Kate (bass) was about 11. They both seem beyond competent.
They have been doing videos pretty much every day since Audrey was a tot and shes playing guitar from about 8 year old. They both play virtually every hard rock track ever on youtube - there are thousands of videos!
Disclaimer: I am not a stalker of theirs ! I only found the video that I posted by chance and couldn't believe what I was watching. https://www.youtube.com/@audrey123talks/videos

Cool as shit, fair ****s to them for monetising their talent so young

Cool as shit, fair ****s to them for monetising their talent so young
It's the only way they can. There's no such thing as a career in music anymore. Not unless the industry itself grows you in a hydroponics lab somewhere & develops you into a safe little middle-of-the-road act that can fill stadiums & empty the pockets of the parents of 13 year olds.

No ****er pays for music anymore, the money all comes from live performance now & that only works if you can fill the O2 or a football ground. These girls will be dependent on youtube likes forever. So fair play to them for adapting to the reality.

& also, not to be cruel or anything, but basically what they are is extremely talented mimics. If they could perform in a live setting or actually write their own stuff (or play something that was written for them) some industry shark would have picked them up long before now seeing as how they've been online for a fair few years already.

This is basically the music version of that football story that comes up at the end of the news every few years.

You know the one : An unlikely person is filmed performing amazing ball juggling tricks, drawing gasps of amazement from impressed onlookers.
First time I saw it, it was a 9 year old boy. I was a similar age at the time. It was probably on Nationwide or some shit.
The next one was a Welsh postman. Since then I've seen dozens. A city commuter in pinstripes & bowler, a binman, a nurse on her break in a hospital car park etc etc. The last one was 2 girls in Brazil whose USP was that they did it in stillettos.
Everyone always says the same thing " Ooooh, aren't they brilliant? Someone should sign them up for a team. They'd be superstars "

No they ****ing wouldn't. & no they ****ing haven't. Not one of them has ever gone on to be a superstar. Why? Because they can't actually play football. They can just do tricks.
They can't win a header, time a run, place a pass, make a tackle or curl a shot. They're circus acts, not footballers.

These girls can do what everyone else like them does. Be a tribute band. & that's what they are doing, because it's all there is.
