Rob Kelly says his side will not be getting carried away following their 3-0 victory over Coventry City on Saturday afternoon. First half goals from Geoff Horsfield (2) and Andy Johnson secured the points for the Foxes on the day in front of almost 26,000 supporters inside the Walkers Stadium.
The result moves City up to 14th position in the Championship table - eight points above the drop zone.
But Kelly says there is no time to dwell on their most recent success as they begin to prepare for Tuesday night's trip to Burnley.
He said: "I know how hard everyone works here and I am delighted for them all. But we won't get carried away. We have got another game on Tuesday to focus on now.
"I am sure the fans will enjoy tonight. I know how important it is to win your local derbies and secure the bragging rights.
"But we are already thinking about our game against Burnley."
Milan Mandaric was introduced to the Leicester supporters before the game - and the players kept up the high spirits with a devastating opening 45 minutes.
Kelly added: "The first half certainly lived up to all the hype. I am so pleased for the supporters. They have turned out in numbers to welcome Mr Mandaric and support their team today.
"It was always going to be difficult for us to play as well in the second half, but give credit to Coventry - they recovered after the break. It was important for us to see it out and get the three points."
And the City boss singled out Geoff Horsfield for special praise following his man of the match performance.
He added: "Geoff is proven at this level. He is a good professional and he looks after himself. He has probably played a little bit more for us so far than we had planned for him to, but in the end it has worked.
"We will wrap him up in cotton wool now and hopefully wheel him out again on Tuesday.
"He gives us another option, and that is something that we have missed.
"I have always had good, energetic, mobile striker - but I have never really had that physical one up there.
"Geoff is as good as we are going to get in this division."
