How do you think the lads did?

Douglas: 6
Sheehan: 6
Gerrbrand: 7
Stearman: 6
Maybury: 7
Kisnorbo: 6
Gudjonsson: 7
Sylla: 5
Smith: 7
Hume: 8
Hammond: 7

Sylla yet again was awful, IMO Hammond should replace him down the right, and De Vries should be back in the line-up. Kisnorbo just wasn't good enough in the middle again today, and Sheehan was having a good game, just inexperience and a moment of madness let him down with his late, clumsy tackle. Overall, I see it as 2 points lost, but Crewe battled well and a draw was a fair result.

I am sorry but Crewe were absolutely dreadful! They didnt add anything to the game, it was our ineptitude that stopped us from winning.

Agree Crewe didn't deserve a point.
Of course they did. They scored & conceeded that same amount as we did.

HAve to agree Crewe were probably the worst team I have seen this season. Saying that we just dont have anyone to provide a cutting edge or open up poor teams

Most of the team today showed no urgency probably Hume and Gerrbrand excepted, i.e they would pass the ball and stand still instead of making runs to take people away or create options.

We should have had the game wrapped up by half time, so fair play to Crewe for taking their only chance.
It was great to see us play like 12 men when we were down to 10. But we should have lost as it was a blatent penalty to Crewe two minutes into injury time.
A point is a point...

I just think its massively dissapointing to leave the ground today with only a point against that shit. I dont think we have any excuses not winning today

I agree, but we didn't win.
We had a few corners and free kicks in good areas but to be honest, there was no threat that we would score. No one seems to look dangerous for us in set pieces....ever....what a waste.

We have gone from on extreme to the other with corners. At the start of the season we had Williams flighted filth, now we have Sylla using a ****ing shovel to dig the ball as high as he can to the far post, which today generally resulted in it drifting harmlessly out of play.

Our team was also quiet small today no real dominance in the air which is unusual for a city side.

No real dominance up front for about 3 or 4 years imo...

Crewes defecne looked like the worst I have seen this season, disappointed with a draw. I think CL said we had 21 shots and they had 5. But thats the story of the season so far, plenty of chances and nothing happening.

Me and the lad I sit with were saying that for short spells we look like the best team in the league but then we have a moment of madness (like the defending for the goal today or Sheehan getting his scond yellow) and then we end up drawing or losing the game.

I think the marks people have given to Smith are generous so far, I think it was his worst game for us by some way. In the second half in particular he just didn't seem interested, even when he had space to run in to he just seemed to want to get rid of the ball as soon as possilbe, and his passing was often poor.
Maybe he was being extra cautious because he thought he should be covering for the 'missing' left back.

hence my 6.5. Thought his touch looked a bit off today.

agreed!!

i cant think of many that impressed me Collymore did, id even Iwan 'teethy' Roberts back at this moment!

him and MDV and Hume as a front 3!!deadly:038:
Feck off scarby, please don't agree with me ever again....you make a mockery of my thoughts, you feckless gimp...

Douglass 4 (poor distribution, flapped for the goal, looked a bit uneasy)
Maybury 5 (dwelt on the ball too much and invited pressure)
Stearman 7 (not tested too much but worked well, a few really good tackles)
Gerbrand 7 (as above, looks very assured)
Sheehan 5 (didn't have much to do, if you exclude the sending off he played okay. i think the tackle was out of boredom )
Sylla 7 (ran more than usual, and showed intelligence, when the ball rolled under his foot, he did do a lot of running straight after which showed he wanted to make up for it.
Gudjonsson 7 (hard working as ever, box to box. some intelligent runs into the channels)
Kisnorbo 6 (didn't do anything wrong, but can't pass forward)
Smith 6 (looked a bit lazy in the second half, obvious class but should have taken players on more)
Hume 8 (second half he was great, created a number of chances for himself)
Hammond 7 (a lot of running but no purpose too it most of the time)

Humes goal looked even better on TV.
