First half attacking we were cracking. It should have been about 5-2 at HT. It was the best I had seen us play all season but it left us open defensively.

I was basing my 'didnt play well' on the fact somebody on here mentioned that we only had 39% of posession. If we did play well then we definitely shouldnt change the team!

i am going for a 5-0 win, Tunchev, DJ x2, fryatt(peno) and Oakley

if Howard plays i am going for a 2-0 win to leicester Dyer and fryatt with the goals

I've got to agree, especially as i predicted 5-0 weeks ago when we had to put in early predictions.

I think you've both been sniffing glue

I get that feeling tonight is one of them games where everything for leicester go in, usually Fryatt fecks it and scores like once in 7 shots and tonight we will make the most of our chances, the team is more confident and Berner Kill them theroy could come to life

I think the Swindon game was a reality check for them to let slip two goals, and a solid performance against Scunny helped them alot that tonight they will "Unleash hell"

I seen the benefit of City having a mobile runner on Saturday, it gave us some balance and we restricted the hoof with attempted through balls. I also seen the benefit of Berner playing and how it appears to free up Oakley for more attacking work.

I'd be tempted not to change the eleven and that's coming for a fan of Howard.

I was not at Scunthorpe but the times I have seen Berner I thought the team played better with him in it. I am surprised that Adams rarely gets a game. I am also concerned that Gradel is getting so little match time. Despite a bad patch I think that with experience he can develop into an excellent player; but he needs games. My problem is I think we need a starting thirteen.

Why do I get a feeling that tonight is going to be one of those games where we just don't perform and they sneak a 1-0 win?
Probably because that's exactly what's happened the last 3-4 seasons after a great result.

As it is, and hoping that city won't let me down as they have some many times before, I'll go with a 2-0 City win.

Scoring goals at home is something we're really bad at. In fact, Crewe have scored more at home than us.

Having said that, coming up against a Gradi team means they hopefully won't have 11 players behind the ball all match.

Freezing cold night. All ingrediants dutifully considered.

0-0

My train has just stopped at Crewe but I didn't see any of their fans get on.
Maybe they're not bothering with this one as they know they're going to get a thrashing.

Or they know you are on the train and therefore the Buffet will be out of pies

They didn't have any pies, it's a disgraceful situation, I'm going to write to Branson about it.

Just as soon as you have ate those 2 packs of sandwiches,3 packs of Crisps and 4 Mars Bars you bought

I fully expect Crewe to turn up and park the bus in front of the goal tonight, try to stifle us, fustrate our players and fans and hope to sneak a winner on the counter attack.

For me tonight is all about, professionalism and commitment from the players and patience from the fans. It doesn't matter if we score in the first or last minute as long as we secure the three points. If we can get the early goal and force Crewe to play more open and adventurous football then I can see a rout, but in truth I think it will be a difficult proposition and Gradi is a clever tactician.

Crewe are rock bottom, the first twenty to twenty five minutes will be crucial, if we can score early and apply pressure their already low confidence will evaporate, but if they can contain us and sense the frustration grow amongst our players and supporters then their confidence will soar. They having nothing to lose and everything to gain and it is key that Pearson keeps our players focused and professional otherwise it could be another costly slip up tonight.

Nice in theory.:icon_bigg

In general i agree with what you say. This is our time though and along with the next few vital games, it gives us a chance to show the rest of the division that they are playing for 2nd place.

Too true but we have to be prepared and ready to accept that we aren't going to steamroll the opposition. Crewe will realise that if they try to play open and attractive football against then they are likely to recieve a pasting, so teams struggling in the bottom half will look to contain and frustrate us. Therefore in a lot of cases we have to be prepared and content with winning 1 -0 in this types of games, even if that goal comes in the final minute. And the fans have to accept this and remain behind the team for the whole game.

At the end of the day whether we win 1-0 or 5-1 it is still only 3 points, but if the players and fans become inpatient and complacent then we could be on the end of a few more rude awakenings !!!
