That certainly was an "ugly" win, even better for who it was against.

Our last 2 games have been against the 2 inform teams. Clean sheets from both, (If hume's freekick had gone in there would be some BM's without clean sheets;) ).

Add the Cov game for a 3rd consecutive clean sheet, just coincidence that they come after IH has added some of his own players?:102:

Oh, and John Gregory is still a cock!

Takes about a week to rip one up and lay a new one but it will cut up worse than the exisitng one for the first 4-6 weeks after its been laid so you wouldnt really get anywhere in the short term. I suspect it will get relaid at the end of the season if they cant get it under control.

I just don't remember us ever having a poor pitch since we've been at The Walkers. It was poor against Cov, but looking on from the TV last night, it really did look bad. I'm not sure we'l actually benefit from leaving it the dreadful state that it's currently in, however given your 'expertise knowledge' :icon_wink and timescales I don't really see we have any other option other than to leave it as it is.

The only reason I know is because a mate of mine called me as he was watching the game to barrack me about our pitch, he is doing a degree in 'Sports Turf' currently so I assume he knows what he is talking about.

I love colins nonsense on the 'manslaughter' of the mole. Ol' Moley was virtually wrestling McAulay at our corners :icon_roll

I thought it was a fascinating game - superb performances from both defences, and two evenly matched midfields nullifying anything creative - all played on a bog heap of a pitch

I feckin' loved it - proper football

With the exception of Hume, who was utterly impotent, I thought everyone had a top notch game against the best organised team we have seen this year.

We won it with the bench - the pace and creativity of both Bori and Campbell changed the whole game - in the ten minutes prior to the goal we had them worried, and we deserved the win.

Excellent stuff :038:

I know, what a twat. McAuley did catch him right in the face, but it was a blatent penalty in the first half when Moley had his arms all over him. That was OK then was it Colin ?? **** off you silly ****.

The defence was solid, the closest Palace came to scoring was a miss-hit corner.

The midfield was average but battled well and were usually bypassed when attacking.

The strikers worked hard with the thousands of long balls they were sent.

WTF I've seen it all now!:icon_eek:

that's the sort of stuff that we need to see.
3 clean sheets on the bounce.
virtually no shots on goal from a side unbeaten in 15.
players to come on (bori and DJ) to make a difference and hard work from the whole team. the back 5 (including alnwick) are amongst the best in the championship, if not THE best.
howard was unlucky and will score goals for us.
oakley and clemence are a solid pair
laczko and bori need to grow into the team a little more, with lazcko coming infield a little too often for me.
all in all though, a great, great turning point from Holloway!
well done fella's!!!

Thought the match was awful with so much hoof ball and little in way of creativity - admittedly that shite pitch may have been partly resposible .
for that.

But the biggest plus is we have some beleif in this team now and we have the makings of a genuinely solid team/squad. If we can grind out a few more results i would fully expect the quality of the play to improve as well.

I think Ollie missed a trick playing Hume out wide. Lets keep the balance and stick with genuine midfielders in midfield - that Bori looked very tidy and impressed me more in 15mins than Laczco had in most of the game.
