We were playing a well organised bully-boy get stuck in oposition who were THE form team in this division

Not some utterly shite ragamuffin outfit with no clue whatsoever (such as Cov were)

Given those circumstances, defensively we were truly outstanding

By the way, I didn't hear anyone booing Barry Hayles last night as you suggested fans might after the comments he made when he joined.

You are right in one way, that is that the kicking from Alnwich was much better, but you are completely insane saying that we were outstading, are you on anything???:icon_wink It was absolutely dire and i was bored shitless. Against Covscum we were very attacking on the flanks and controlled the game. Last night we were definitely not dominating, we did attack down the flanks twice or so but nothing more. Were you watching the right game?:102:

I agree with Homer entirely. Thought it was an excellent performance against a decent team. They didnt have any real chances (unless you read the times) and we worked hard going forward to try to create something. I thought the players were trying a variety of things to break down a well organised side that didnt really pay-off till the last 5 mins. I do think we deserved the win in the end and i think warnock is only pissed off as he knows they would have beaten most other teams last night.

With the exception of Hume, who was utterly impotent, I thought everyone had a top notch game against the best organised team we have seen this year.

We won it with the bench - the pace and creativity of both Bori and Campbell changed the whole game - in the ten minutes prior to the goal we had them worried, and we deserved the win.

Got to agree with Homer's appraisal...watched the game with fellow TB'er Swede Fox Shepshed and some Swedish mates in the Southside Irish pub in Stockholm...

our Swedish guests were appalled by the hustle and bustle of the game, the state of the pitch, the blatant mishandling and shirt pulling, mistimed tackles and general bogged-down football...they thought it reminiscent of the '80's English old 1st division stuff they watched as kids....

I f**ckin' loved it!! We got stuck-in to the country's form team, defended magnificently, played as if the shirts actuallly meant something to the players, scored a shinned last minute winner and prevented Warnock (aka The Penguin) beating his career best undefeated run....

Ollie appears to be putting ideas into action and my sometime cynicism has all but evaporated...I was happy as hell as I walked home in the early hours....

they were right about the pitch though.....

Ok point taken... but before yesterday I think they had something like 22 points from the last 10 games...up there with any other team in the country... and if you base it on where Palace where in the table before they started the run their recent form has been arguably unprecedented this season...

I think you only have to look at the League table to find the answers into the difference in performance, Palace are a much better team than C*v.

A great defensive display I thought, and exactly the sort of team we would have lost to at home a few months ago.

The defence was abit better than ''ok'' - They kept quiet a team that is brimming with confidence, who are able to mix up pace from Morrison with the hustle and bustle of Scowcroft, plus others in the mixer aswell.

Just because they were abit harder to break down than an awful Coventry side seems to have taken a shine off those 3 points in your eyes, so it seems, which I cannot for the life of me understand.

Coventry were at their normal selves, Palace were not. We still did not get the ball down the flanks enough, when did you see Hume, or Lactzo beat a defender on the wing and make a decent cross into the box? Maybe once or twice but no more. Well said on the defence.
