A cracking player at this level who's lost his way and needs Svenergising.

I'm considering TMing that word.

Because they're foooools.

Nugent, especially on a free, would be a very good signing I think. Nugent and the Yak could be a very nice strike force.
Being nice doesn't get you anywhere in life!

I hope and presume that Micky is just being flippant and does not really believe this; however it is worth disputing in case anybody actually accepts that view.

Everybody gets somewhere in life. Maybe I have been lucky but I have known very few really nasty people and all of them have been unhappy. From what I have seen being nasty in life gets you miserable.

In sport nastiness can be an asset. When I was a boy the nastiest boxer of the time in the ring was Rocky Marciano but I read that he left the nastiness behind outsider the ring. The nastiest footballer I can remember was Eddie Clamp of Wolves who was cheerful and funny when not playing (wrong word Clamp never "played" at football). Perhaps the nastiest boxer of all time was Sonny Liston in and out of the ring who Reg Gutteridge described as making Mike Tyson seem like a kitten. From terrible boyhood to squalid death Liston had a thoroughly unhappy life.

However even in sport there have been nice champions - in boxing Joe Louis, in golf Bobby Jones, in tennis Chris Evert. In football Stanley Matthews (IMO the greatest ever British player) Tom Finney, Billy Wright and Bobby Charlton seem to have all been nice. Among the present generation Michael Owen and David Beckham seem to be thoroughly nice. To up the ante even more whether you choose Di Stefano or Pele as the greatest footballer ever they both seem thoroughly nice people.

Nice people can finish first.
