Im not too bothered its just that at this moment in time we are an attractive proposition to palyers as we are winning and on the verge of promotion. Doesn't the wise money say buy/strengthen when your doing well??

Bit of an anti climax!!

i don't think we should wait until we get an injury crisis before we act!

If the budget is limited we'll be better off waiting for an injury crisis, then we'll know what kind of player we need.
No point signing a striker and midfielder now and then getting injuries to defenders when we have no money left to replace them.

Despite the number of players being out on loan we still have a bigger squad than most other teams in this league, and the players who can come in should be good enough.

expanding when you're on the up is good sense - not being negative to want the club to show good business sense is it?

How many short term loans have we got left this season btw?

If we're signing players we should be signing them for next season.

Players are generally overpriced in the January window so it makes good business sense to buy in the summer when we need the players and there will be more to choose from, rather than now when we don't need them and they'll cost too much.

Not too worried we didn't sign anyone today.

Would've liked to see a backup for Howard, but we'e still got the loan window if we need to. At the moment it's better for us to loan than buy anyway, so it doesn't make too much difference.

It would have been a tad pointless. Anyone we got today wouldnt have been good enough once/if we get up. Better off waiting and trying to attract a better quality of player in the summer. We can still get a loan if needs be.

i hope you're right. in an ideal world we'll win our next 6 games and be nigh on promoted on 80 points with 12 games of the season left to go. we could play levi porter in goal until the end of the season and still get promoted if we do that.

how's that for optimism!!

I have tried to work out how many more points we need to get promoted.

We currently have 64,and if we got 86/87 points in the previous last 5 seasons we would have got promoted.

So for 87 points we need another 7 wins and 2 draws from the remaining 18 games.

Or 23 points out of the remaining 54 on offer.

If our rivals average 2pts a game for the rest of the season we would need about 90pts .
That leaves us 26 from 18 games. Should piss it:icon_bigg

The thing is we have loaned out more than we have brought in so presumably we have to some degree weakened the squad. Is that the wisest move seeing as its promotion or bust. I thought we'd see one more in either a striker or a midfielder.

We now knoe Dickov and Hayles are useless so an injury to either Fryatt or Howard and its going to be ugly.

Addition by subtraction if you ask me.
