Dean Smith - LCFC Manager

I really don't know what to say.

After backing ourselves into a corner through utter incompetence, we're left either committing stupidly to someone who may be the wrong choice or taking a failure on who has nothing to lose by agreeing to a short term deal.

We've taken the failure option. Smith has proved he's not a PL manager. All we can hope is that somehow he gets a tune out of the players in most of the remaining games.

It's batshit crazy. A few weeks ago, none of us could have conceived of such a total **** up.

We've got no choice now but to pretend to ourselves that any of it makes sense. Smith might blah blah. Good ol' Shaky blah blah. Terry will get at 'em blah blah. It's bollocks though isn't it?
Yes, it is.

I don't give a flying **** about Dean Smith. Never have, never will.

But if after 8 games he's kept us up having visibly changed our approach, confidence, commitment & style of play he'll have my eternal gratitude.

Now get the **** on with it.

& lets please see some sort of vague thing resembling a plan in the summer. I just want all this shite to be over, get summery, turn the gas off, sit in the garden, watch some racing, have some nice days out & not have to have any of that rudely interrupted by miserable thoughts about games against Rotherham & Bristol City or having to delete endless emails from LCFC begging me to buy a season ticket.

Having listened to Smith's interview I'm a happier than I was. I like how he talks about the team of himself, JT and Shakey, they do offer different aspects and experience that could work well together....and it sounds like he will listen to them and work with them, changing tactics as necessary.
That is a change! He seems like an honest guy and doesn't have BR's bullshit facade.
I don't think BR ever listened to his backroom staff, or anyone for that matter, but when you look at the chuckle bros that's probably a good thing.

I’m certainly willing to back them, we needed a change. I get the feeling that they need a good start to win over the majority. Lucky for them they get Man City away.

And to think those (including me) felt underwhelmed by the prospect of Sean Dyche a few weeks back…….

Well this appointment could be the difference between losing by a hatful at the weekend and losing by one or two, which may well decide the end of the season.

It means that those two idiots aren’t managing the team any more, and that is a very good thing

Such a pity we’ve pissed away two winnable goals while Top and Whelan ran around in panic like headless chickens

Almost certainly too late, and the team is now almost certainly done and dusted, but you never know

What a complete ****ing mess

Almost certainly too late
Yes, yes it is. It's hard for me to feel anything other than sadness over the wasted opportunity. Surprisingly, I don't feel anger but I understand totally that people could/would because those that were trusted ****ed up. Some ludicrous decisions were or weren't made. Perhaps ideals were pursued and realities ignored (you can’t beat the cartel)

If by some weird bend of fate we do stay up then I hope lessons will be learnt. I don't think we will stay up though. Neither will we bounce back. I think it'll take several seasons before we deal with the fall out. Back where we belong? No, you can't beat the cartel. Unless you do a Newcastle. They get a sugar daddy*. We get Dean Smith... and John ****ing Terry. Christ almighty, how the once champions can fall.

Edit : *On reflection, that's a poor analogy. By orders of magnitude, an sportswashed, -ist regime is far far worse than your common or garden pond scum. I think you get my intended gist though; one can buy one's way in.

Dean Smith. Let’s hope he knows how and when to make substitutions.

2 points in it, 8 games to go - plenty to still play for.

At least we have a proper managment team now as the last 2 games have been a shambles.

I think I'll change my weekend bet from Man City to score 10+ to Man City to score < 5.

Positivity is in the air!

If you watch Man City this season they often switch off the afterburners after they've got 4 in the bag.

Nothing is worse than Stowell and Sadler. We must hope.
Sadler and Stowell are useless but they were also hamstrung on Saturday by a request to play a certain way to show Jesse how he could adapt the squad to his tactics, by halftime this was evident not to be possible and the club and Jesse concluded they weren't a good fit (WOTS).
