Perhaps it's just sentiment, but when I read that MON is in for him it does pick at my optimism. Love him or hate him O'Niell can pick a player....though it should also be noted that he's capable of making players perform a hell of a lot higher than their true level (Marshall, Savage, Guppy).

Not sure I agree with you on Savage, if that were the case, he would have been back in the Championship before long after leaving us. He played almost the rest of his career in the Premier League.

I think he's just here as an impact player off the bench. Interesting that it's only a month.... maybe we've got eyes on another striker still, and Delfouneso is just as cover until we can bring them in.
