And it voids the point of this thread.

At this rate, we could say Manchester United v Newcastle is a derby because it's in the North
or Plymouth Arygle v Bristol City is because it's in the South

But since Sunderland went down, who do Newcastle fans in their area most want to beat? Middlesborough or Man Utd?

So you think Leicester fans will be up for big 'derbies' against Cheltenham and Shrewsbury then?
People will more likely see Luton as a derby match than a team like Cheltenham.

Anyway it's all irrelevant, because we're not going down.

In their area, Middlesbrough as Manchester United is in the North-West.

Alright then another example....

Rochdale v Darlington is a derby because it's in the North.

or maybe

Southampton v QPR is a derby because it's in the South.

You're broad use of ''Midlands'' makes no sense here. If we go down Doncaster and Huddersfield are in the same region of distance as Cheltenham that make them games 'derbies'.

No i doubt it very much that we will see us beating them as much to brag about. I was just merely pointing out what 'derbies' we will have should the worse happen. Fact is, if Forest do go up, Northampton will be the only match we will conceive as a derby match.

Gets my vote for funniest thread of the year so far.
It's not even a full moon for another couple of weeks.
