I have been reading this forum for years but rarely comment but I wonder how many contributors are taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture when it comes to calling for the managers head because of our form over the last nine games. After years of chopping and changing managers and getting absolutley nowhere but relegated, Nigel Pearson came in - steadied the ship, won League 1 in style and got us to the Championship Playoffs. After being dumped, leaving us with another fruitless period of instability, he has come back and in his first full season has turned us into promotion-chasers.
Clearly the form of the team is concerning, but I would much prefer NP to stay in charge and sort it out rather than go down the road we have been down before and has always worked out worse.
I see Tony Pulis is attracting criticism at Stoke after a 'poor' season. I see this as a direct comparison with what is happening at our club. I think a few people should consider where we have been and be thankful for where we are now. Even if we dont go up this season, i'd much prefer to have NP leading us on promotion chasing seasons than the mid-lower table obscurity we have suffered under every other manager we've had since MA.
My advice to those baying for blood is try to manage your own expectation and be careful what you wish for !!
