I don't suppose it would be impossible to make balls with a tiny projector inside that would display whatever numbers you wanted. But if that was the trick, I think he'd have had an audience. No audience, spelling out that there's 2 cameras, makes it much more likely to be a camera trick.

That was what did it for me - the lack of an audience meant it was obviously camera trickery.
