They'd got no pies. Burgers instead - and they were shite. Undercooked and tasted as though they had been boiled rather than fried. I could only eat two.

He gave some more energy up front, which you would exepct, but he also did a good job of dropping deep and offering a shorter ball for the defence instead of them just booting it straight over a static midfield.
I know Barry is the closest thing we have to Howard, but if I were Nige i'd consider Dickov to start for P'boro, simply because I think it will be a game of football rather than two sides hoofing it from end to end like yesterday. And on the subject of good returns, I thought Dyer looked part way back to his old self, perhaps it was the sunshine

I only found out yesterday that Hayles is only 5'9", he's not that similar physically to Howard at all.
Apart from that I'd agree with you about Dickov.
PS. He did head the ball before he scored.
