Just think if Chambo and Hume ver play together it will be LCFCs youngest ever player playing with Tranmeres youngest ever player!! Lethal

Just because both players are fast and young doesnt make em lethal, it would be too much of a lightweight partnership, no battering ram for headers. It would nice in 5 years time though.

I personally don't think that Hammond is anywhere near good enough to play at this level at the moment, or foreseeable future.

He has pace, but that is about it. His movement, touch, runs, link up play, final ball and finishing are all, as far as I can see, woeful. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see anything that makes me think otherwise at the moment.

I think Hume has got more attributes to perserve with but I would be hoping that CL is scouting for another striker to put pressure on Hume & MDV.

I think we currently have the strikers that we will end up if with at the end of the season.

If Hume and Elvis link up well against Southampton and score then people will be saying MDV should be left out! :icon_bigg

If Hume and Elvis link up well against Southampton and score then people will be saying it's a bloody miracle.

Neither of them ever seem to do much if they start the game, but leave us full of hope when they are brought on later in the game. I honestly wouldn't see the pair starting against Southampton; I think it is much more likely to be Dion up front with whichever of the 'promising, but not achieving' pait whose turn it happens to be.

I love the fact that a couple of weeks ago Hume and Elvis were saviours and MDV should be stoned, a couple of goals later and everyone forgets about MDV and concentrates on Elvis and Hume!

I agree that both have looked average but they did 3 weeks ago but nobody mentioned it till now! :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

I would imagine Dublin will play up front agaist Soton won't he ?

They both just need a lucky goal IMO. Hume looks to have bags of talent to me, he just needs some confidence. Elvis is OK his main threat is his pace but we dont seem to be playing to his strength at the minute.

I think it depends whose posts you were reading 3 weeks ago.

Exactly! They both seem to have potential - but as yet it remains unrealised.

Defo, I think CL will only have a decision on who will partner him.

I think numerous posters thought MDV should be shot and Hume and Hammond were the way forward! Im not necessarily accusing you but there were some!

Just a little bit up the page you were suggesting the possibility of Hume and Elvis linking up in the Sourhampton game. Now you say that only one of them will play.

Do you want to make up your mind?

"Not necessarily accusing me" - oh, thank you very much!! :icon_evil

I'm quite aware that there were some but some were also saying the opposite; hence my "it all depends who you read" comment.

I was suggesting that if they DID play up front, not that they will or should! I was also suggesting that if one or both should score (not necessarily both of them on the pitch at the time) that people would talk about leaving MDV out.

I realise that people had different opinions and was merely suggesting those who DID attack MDV had changed their mind! I also tried to show that i was not counting you as one of those people. Obviously this offended you some how :icon_conf

I do like it when people back down and use humour in a situation which they have no reply! :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

No attempt at humour at all. First you were suggesting that the two would play together and then you weren't. HF interpreted you post in the same way that I did.

You can wriggle as much as you like!

You are completely right!!!

I suggest that IF hume and Elvis were to play well together that fans would want MDV left out and then went on to say that i though Dublin WOULD start with one of them parntering him. This has completely destroyed my argument that the fans have turned their attention to Elvis and Hume not playing well because they can no longer moan about MDV!

I feel embarrassed that I have suggested that Elvis and Hume would play on the pitch together and then say Dublin would start! I must wriggle away now :frown: :icon_redf :( ;) :icon_roll

Why don't we go for the 4-3-3 that was so effective against the in form Cardiff?

beacause we failed to score and never looked that likely to. The defence is solid enough now in a 4-4-2

another football forum is full of posts wanting ryan smith to play up front. i find this all very embarassing as these people must have seen all of 20minutes of the lad, and while i admit he looks promising i can't see how he is a world beater yet. ultimately MDV is going to be on the starting line up first as Hume admitted a few weeks back that it would be a case of who will partner big dave up front each week. i thought elvis brought some panic to the preston defence that lacked for the rest of the game, he may take 50 shots inthe game to score, but hume seems to be the same way. i'd put elvis and dublin up front, with hume behind the two. this league is poop and we shouldnt be scared to be attack minded.
