?

A few managers have managed to get average teams up through the playoffs on the back of half a decent season. I don't think it makes you a good manager.

When I recruit people I look on their CV to see if they have achieved previously what I need them to do in the role I have available.

If they have, it's a big tick in the box for me.

It doesn't mean I wouldn't take a risk in certain circumstances on someone who i believeed had potential to perform at the required level.

I never recruit journeymen who have been around for years without achieving anything - even if they make me laugh at the interview...

Therefore Dowie wins over Hollowtwat for me...

a) Holloway - A proven failure at Leicester City

b) Dowie - Not yet a proven failure at Leicester City.

I'd take b) anyday.

However, I doubt it's a choice between those two Managers. There are currently 92 Managers in work at the moment, why do we need to think about the same two or three.

I am not aware of how much money MM is prepared to spend paying off contracts in exchange for a Manager already proving his worth, but it will certainly be featuring in his thought process.

Dowie's name keeps resurfacing and i think he is the man thats MM has wanted all along.Whether he he will do any good is a matter opf opinion but one thing is for sure he certainly won't be any worse than the Manager we have now

Sorry. A very good half a season.

But how often is Holloway's record at Plymouth quoted as why we should stay with him:102:

What else does this character have to do to prove he is just not good enough and that there are better candidates out there who have achieved more - which is actually saying fcuk all to be fair...

Oh dear - Here comes the stability arguement again......

Dontlike Dowie or Davies prefer Grayson/Thompson ( inexperienced, although knowledgeable about div 1 and Leicester).

I've had a bellyfull of all this Stability, what other reason is there to keep Holloway ? Sack him..sack him now today because with him in charge Sundays result is a for gone conclussion, lets make no mistake we are a woeful side.Sack him today and put Dowie in charge, four days with the players at least then if we go down we will go down fighting not with a whimper.Never heard so many fans totally pissed off with the complete lack of fight and desire in the club and I mean fans who have supported the Club for years.I see no reason for Holloway to remain in charge for a minute longer,he probably knows himself he's out on his arse regardless of the result. The only chance we have of gaining anything from Sunday is with Ian Holloway not in charge, with him in charge defeat is a formality

He's as good as we are going to get IMO and its clear to me MMwants him

Hasn't exactly had a great rapport with problem chairmen though e.g. Simon Whatshisname @ Palace & Ranson as soon as he became Cov Chairman. Is there any reason to suggest it would be any different this time around?

It's a good point

Win, lose or draw on Saturday, and relegation or survival ,I am convinced that Holloway will be out the door. Mandaric will not stand for that level of incompetence

So do we feck him off now in an attempt for glory ?

I would

But Mad Mandy will want his scapegoat head served on a platter, to ensure the fans stay on his side and burn effigies of the carrot-crunching joke-cracking useless feckwit instead of him

I think MM might get more respect if it gave Holloway the elbow now because I would say the majority of fans know we are a beaten side already on Sunday with him in charge and at least getting rid wopuld lok as if he is trying one last ditch attempt at salvaging something. He'sw got to go and he's got to go very soon

Maybe but Jordan is an arsehole so I'd discount that one

I get the feeling that (unfortunately) Holloways job is safe. If MM was going to sack him he would have done it at least a month ago. The stability argument and, ''He'll have a whole pre-season'' blah blah blah, will be the excuse. I hope I'm wrong.

Maybe hes staying because of his contract, and how it effects his pay-off :102:

Don't be so sure, H. You've witnessed first hand the obsession some of the idiots have with this guy, and I'm not talking about one or two, there are lots.

IF, we sack Holloway today, get Dowie in, and we get relegated on Sunday, I would bet my mortgage that Dowie would be blamed and absurd statements such as "We should never have gotten rid if Holloway" will be filling our screens and ears.

Davies maybe, Grayson one for the future, but you never know.

I honestly think that the club is not cursed, we just havent had the right man in charge, for whatever reason...........
