Where have you seen these leadership qualities displayed? I have never seen them, unless you mean pointing.
100% agree, he's been like a very slightly mobile windmill.

Really?
What gives you that idea?

I doubt we'd pay up his contract to the end of the season, I'm sure there'll have been some kind of negotiated settlement similar to what we've done with other players in the last few years.

I think you are right webbo, I suspect his desire to go exceeded our desire to pay him much compo. Wasnt his contract until the end of the season? If he is picking up a salary straight off I suspect we will have said "we wont stand in your way, and we'll pay you up to the next pay day.

In summary there were 2 options.....

Play a defender who great leadership skills (i agree homer) but no legs

or

Play an alternative that has the legs but then we lose a player with leadership skills.

The problem for me is that we have no-one with both.

When we had Dublin we had somebody who had neither. I don;t know where people get the idea that he is a good leader. On the pitch he took responsibility for nothing and everything was always somebody else's fault.

I'm glad he's gone. And he never was 'Lestoh'!!

:( lets hope there fans treat him better than some of ours have ! good luck to him top pro, some of the comments on here are unreal! these idiots have not got a clue,he is going to celtic! big club! but he is rubbish!!!! ,i just hope he tells lennon to stay there! good luck dion a true leicester lad!

Don't make me laugh! Dion was a professional footballer who said and did whatever he needed to in order to maximise his earnings. He came to City late in his career whne his options were running out - he was well-paid and did very little.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII think he was brought here by Micky Adams with a view to a coaching role, but due to the management changes (when CL arrived) i reckon he was told he wasn't wanted as a coach. he was probably biding his time for when CL left to reignite his coaching/management ambitions but was let down so wanted to leave.

He'll score goals up here.

Just for once Highland - you are right!

This is not a good move by City - unless it sweetens the way for Lennon coming here.

Dublin is old, past it...and still one of our most useful players. He would have been very useful in a relegation dog fight.

Let's hope that we are going to get Lennon out of this - otherwise it just brings relegation one step nearer.

I very much doubt that this will be linked with Lennon, different positions etc. Dublin for me has done sod all this season. No great loss

Spot on - many of the posts on this forum get sillier and sillier.....what exactly have they got against Dublin.. I think they need to take a hard look at what is really behind their attitudes towards the guy.

As you imply - and Homer says explicitly, we are being left with kids from whom too much is being expected and players who are not much use.

Or maybe Dion went mardy when he wasn't part of the caretaker management team.

I've just been talking to somebody in a position to know about this. The release of Dublin and his signing for Celtic was arranged pre-the CL sacking. It came as a complete surprise to Rob Kelly when he was asked about it by a 'gentleman of the press' this morning.

So - the achilles injury story was just to make sure that he was fit to sign for Celtic.

I think we are going to regret this piece of business - also tells you a lot about the state of LCFC when the caretaker manager doesn't even know about the loss of a squad player.

My attitude is that he's done sod all this season, and has not been worth a place in the team, full stop. No hidden agenda, honest!

Dublin can clear off for all I care. The guy was usless, I dont know how many games you got to see Redditch but the guy was NO WHERE NEAR Championship standards. I'm pleased he's gone - Now lets ship Tiatto off and were almost deadwood free.

Good move for all concerned IMO. I think that he was too error prone to be of any use to us in a dog fight to avoid relegation, and let's hope that the savings on the wages bill can get us someone on loan until the end of the season .

That's so unprofessional and unfortunately epitomises the current state of affairs at the club.

Cotterill, Davies, Newell I don't care but please someone come and save us from this

What for? Have we sacked doris the laundry lady again in preparation for administration? I was delighted when we signed him, good as like for like with Sir Les IMO, but has been total tosh. Waste of money, waste of space, as for this leicester lad shite, muzzy the turkish cockney and lennon the N.Irish Mancunian have more leicester blood than DD.

Also would DD put his hand in his pocket a la Heskey? Or shaft us for cash like wise? Hmm i wonder?

That is true RF, is total piss poor if neither TD or CL told RK about this, says something about the effectiveness of the CL/RK management team doesnt it?
