What gives you that idea?
I doubt we'd pay up his contract to the end of the season, I'm sure there'll have been some kind of negotiated settlement similar to what we've done with other players in the last few years.
The Voice From Above said:In summary there were 2 options.....
Play a defender who great leadership skills (i agree homer) but no legs
or
Play an alternative that has the legs but then we lose a player with leadership skills.
The problem for me is that we have no-one with both.

This is not a good move by City - unless it sweetens the way for Lennon coming here.
Dublin is old, past it...and still one of our most useful players. He would have been very useful in a relegation dog fight.
Let's hope that we are going to get Lennon out of this - otherwise it just brings relegation one step nearer.

Spot on - many of the posts on this forum get sillier and sillier.....what exactly have they got against Dublin.. I think they need to take a hard look at what is really behind their attitudes towards the guy.
As you imply - and Homer says explicitly, we are being left with kids from whom too much is being expected and players who are not much use.

bocadillo said:I've just been talking to somebody in a position to know about this. The release of Dublin and his signing for Celtic was arranged pre-the CL sacking. It came as a complete surprise to Rob Kelly when he was asked about it by a 'gentleman of the press' this morning.

Redditch Fox said:So - the achilles injury story was just to make sure that he was fit to sign for Celtic.
I think we are going to regret this piece of business - also tells you a lot about the state of LCFC when the caretaker manager doesn't even know about the loss of a squad player.
