Dublin can clear off for all I care. The guy was usless, I dont know how many games you got to see Redditch but the guy was NO WHERE NEAR Championship standards. I'm pleased he's gone - Now lets ship Tiatto off and were almost deadwood free.

Some Barnt Green - not all as once was the case - because I find myself waiting for half time so I can read the programme in the first half and thinking about what time to hit the road in the second.

I am an an ex-regular ST holder and know when a side can and can't play decent football.

Just ask yourself one simple question - why should Stachan think Dublin is good enough to provide cover at Celtic when you think he's not good enough to provide a bit of experience and presence in a struggling fizzy league side?

Of course he's been poor this season - so have most of the rag bag who so far have not been fit to wear a Leicester shirt. But also ask yourself why this is? Could it be associated with the fact that the club has been managed - based on the hard evidence of results (not) achieved -by one of the worst managers in the club's history?

1. You got me there bud!! No answers for that one, maybe he uses the Heart 106 phone as a midlands scouting system, Kenny Burns seems to think he is the mutts nuts too.

2. Fair with regard to CL. What about MA though? He showed he could get the best out of veteran targetman strikers in Sir Les and Deane both doing well despite thier careers being practically over when they came. Sir Les was fairly ineffective at West Ham before he came to us. 36DD only scored 5 goals last season, he should have had more than that playing the whole time at centre back!!

I think Dublin's right position when he came here was centre back and that of course was where he played in his later days at the Villa.

I just think that letting him go takes away a useful option for a new manager.

Find this a bit strange really. Thought Dublin was meant to be a Leicester lad, and seeing we're in a bit of sh** kind of thought he'd be one of the players who would want to stop and help the club. Maybe theres more to it than just 'jumping ship'.

I think he has the hump - if he has been causing problems behind the scenes (as reported by some on here) then it is just as well he has gone as this will not help morale.

He has not looked effective as a forward, but has looked ok at the back, just lacks pace, hoofs it forward too much and can be too cocky and casual some times.

Good luck to him, but not sure why a few fans raved about him so much.

Does anyone have any idea of the money Dublin was on? Could turn out to be a choice piece of business IMO....

Maybe Mad Biker can shed some light on this. Was DD a trouble maker? What was the real reason he went? I think whatever age you are if Celtic come in for you then its just too good an opportunity to miss. Good Luck to him.........

This is not a good move by City - unless it sweetens the way for Lennon coming here.

Let's hope that we are going to get Lennon out of this .

....could be something in that, RF!!!!

this could be why DD didnt play in the cup .

Celtic have signed former England striker Dion Dublin from Leicester City until the end of the season, the Scottish club said on Monday. Dublin, who had a brief spell and Manchester United and will now join former team mate Roy Keane, won four caps for England.

Dublin, who had a brief spell at Manchester United before playing for Coventry City and Aston Villa, could make his debut in Celtic's Scottish League Cup semi-final against Motherwell on Wednesday.

i mite be wrong dose it work the same up there

the really reason why dublins signed for celtic is because they needed a striker with pace and heard that dion had half a yard on everyone else.

I dont know but I heard that MdV is the current highest earner on £12K a week, can't think Dublin is far off that.

I can't believe the anti Dublin trend on this thread! Dublin was a Leicester lad through and through! Whats he done walked into your front rooms and pissed on yer kids! We are in a relegation battle! Somone with his experience was needed to help us get through the mess we are in! He would have been ideal to have coached the kids we have coming through! I don't blame him Celtic are a bigger club than City and in the twilight of his career who would blame him for signing for them! This, has confirmed what I already knew we are in a Deeper Crisis than I thought! Division 3 here we come!! :icon_sad:

Personally I disagree. I would have expected a more "never say die" attitude from Dublin, especially because he was a local lad. Now I may be way off the mark as I have not been down to the games as much this last couple of years, but I thought he had a very blase (BIG word, probably in the wrong context) attitude. I am prepared to get hammered here but I say good riddance.

Spot on, Singth.
