I can't believe the anti Dublin trend on this thread! Dublin was a Leicester lad through and through! Whats he done walked into your front rooms and pissed on yer kids! We are in a relegation battle! Somone with his experience was needed to help us get through the mess we are in! He would have been ideal to have coached the kids we have coming through! I don't blame him Celtic are a bigger club than City and in the twilight of his career who would blame him for signing for them! This, has confirmed what I already knew we are in a Deeper Crisis than I thought! Division 3 here we come!! :icon_sad:

Please read the rest of the thread as a response to this, football is about opinions, and mine is 36DD was shite the whole time he was here.

Mmmm - but I think he may have come in useful if we had injuries and are left with a bunch of kids having to win the last couple of games to survive.

I wouldn't underestimate the mess this club is in.....Levein had to go because he was effectively about as welcome as a kamikaze pilot on your holiday flight...but God knows whether the board/ senior management have any real grip.

The story is that Dion asked to be released because he did not want be embroiled in a relegation fight at this stage of his career. This is from a VERY reliable source, who is actually a Dion Dublin fan, and wasn't happy about it.(Personally I agree with the post that said if Dion was even a little bit mobile, he would've been decent for us, but as he couldn't, he was hopeless)

I find it very strange: Dion's a Leicester fan by all accounts, who wanted to play for his home town club, and then does a runner beacuse things are rough. Or maybe this was a smokescreen beacuse he knew about the Celtic thing, which is even stranger than his reason for leaving...

I've just been talking to somebody in a position to know about this. The release of Dublin and his signing for Celtic was arranged pre-the CL sacking. It came as a complete surprise to Rob Kelly when he was asked about it by a 'gentleman of the press' this morning.

that's what i heard as well Boc, from someone who met with TD last week...

MDV is the highest wage earner...but i don't know how much.
certainly puts Trees claims that Williams was £15k(and on some forums even more) in the place they belong-in the bin.

I heard MdV and CL came here on similar deals and were the 2 top earners at the club on about £12k. The source should know exactly what they are talking about.

why do people keep assuming he's a Leicester FAN?

cos as far as i'm aware he certainly isn't.

like i said i don't know how much he's on, but him being the top wage earning player came straight from TD's mouth!( told to me by the person who met with him)

I find it amazing people are criticising this. It's very clear that HE WANTED TO GO. In other words he doesn't give a flying feck about Leicester.

Could have sworn he said he always wanted to play for the team he supported as a boy... Although I could find no reference for this from using Google - only thing was someone on Foxestalk saying he was a Baggies fan as a kid. So maybe not.

Still find it strange that a veteran leader should ask to leave beacuse he doesn;t want to be in a relegation scrap.

It's because he doesn't give a feck.

Well if all Bob Hazell's hints come true then DD is definately a Leicester fan, to sacrifice his half arsed efforts at looking like he gives a fcuk about Leicester to allow the return of the prodigal son that is Neil Lennon, then well done Dion, it has taken you over 18 months and you pissing off out the door to make your one true contribution to Leicester City Football Club.

As for MDV as top wage earner, what a fecking piss take, if that is the case then maybe we should try and agree a mutual termination of his contract as well, heard Fulham were crying out for a striker and I am sure MDV would love to play for the Cottagers

He was definitely a West Brom fan when he was a kid. There weren't that many black players in the game at the time so Dion supported West Brom because they had players like Cyril Regis, Laurie Cunningham etc.
