What do you guys think of Elvis Hammond?

He's not started since January, when we play Southampton in the FA Cup. ( i think :102: )

For £350k he had to of had some strengths.

You would think so :icon_redf

Personally, I would play him on the right ahead of Maybury. The only problem is he would leave Stearman open. But Stearman should now be competent at this level by now

I think MDV mentioned something about his strength, however now I think about it he may have said length.....

A panic buy by Levein - possibly one of his worst pieces of business.

The guy had no track record at all, he already had him on a long term deal and then he went out and paid big money for him possibly to appease the fans after the sale of Connolly...

I think he's enjoys playing in the hole just behind a big man..

(here we go again!) yeh he likes coming from deep.....

The reason why he's not playing is that RK's sussed him out. End of. If we can give him away at the end of the season, that would be preferable to keeping him on the payroll.

Quite a defining moment for me on Levein - I thought he was probably useless before; i knew he was useless after he threw the money away on Hammond.

Personally think he will be on his way in the summer, average player, plenty of pace but too erratic when in possession, as for playing right side midfield dont believe it will happen under RK. It appears that the majority of the squad have bought into what Kelly is trying to build and achieve, yet there does appear to be a group of players who since RK took over have been conspicious by their absensce, namely Hammond, Sylla and Smith, who was allowed to return to Arsenal, speaks volumes IMO.

Personally I don't mind him. He is tricky and offers something different if Hume, or Fraytt are out. He may not score a lot of goals but I think he would be good out wide. Keep him.

Average squad player, but id keep him until one of the youngsters (eg Gradel or Dodds), is ready to become a regular first team squad member, which will happen at some point next season.

Yes, but I think it's when you start cluttering up the playing staff with players who you know are'nt good enough..and will never improve, that you run into big trouble.

You see the decent managers getting rid of this type of player and giving an opportunity to someone else including perhaps one of the kids who isn't quite ready. After all Hammond's exclusion isn't really going to hurt the club.
