Good morning everyone

I'm a regular poster on Foxestalk and came up with an idea a few months ago that attempts to combine our 125th anniversary and Birchenall's end of season run with a great opportunity to raise a lot of money for our away shirt sponsors, LOROS.

I am trying to get 125 people who are willing to join Birchenall on his run at the Middlesbrough game on Sunday 2nd May next year. I've been in touch with the club (firstly Peter Jones and then his colleague Pat McConnell) and they have agreed in principal - Birchenall wants to meet me in the next few weeks to go over the details. In the meantime I am trying to get as many people as possible to sign up. So far I have 32 people on Foxestalk.

The first draft of the idea is that we all do a few laps of the pitch, possibly in 5 "relays" of 25 people. Each person agrees to raise at least £100 (possibly through a group Just Giving page) meaning we could raise at least £12,500 for LOROS.

If you are interested please sign up in THIS thread (not on Foxestalk). This is a great opportunity to raise a lot of money for a local charity and get yourselves on the "hallowed" turf of the Walkers Stadium.

Cheers.

P.S. if you go on Foxestalk you'll see that it's called the Foxestalk Charity Run, obviously we'd amend this to reflect diversity of the final group... :)

I'm up for this in principle.
Couple of questions:

How many is a 'few' laps?
Will oxygen tents be provided....:icon_bigg

Serioulsy, pencil me in.

Well... originally I was thinking 25 laps which equates to about 5 miles BUT before you ask me to unpencil you I was then looking at just leaving it up to the individual, with a maximum of 25.

No point excluding people who aren't that fit, it's not a running competition, the most important thing is the fundraising...

Will catering be provided and what's the maximum expenses I can claim for my time?

I have first hand experience of the excellent work Loros do and they are a fantasic charity so I would love to be involved. I am a regular runner as well so these distances would not be a problem.

Count me in!
