Do you mean exactly like the 'one formation, one way' we played last year when we won the title using a consistent starting eleven and persistent high pressing, counter attacking style pretty much week in, week out? The 'one formation, one way' we played to allow our best striker to fire in 24 goals and complete a record scoring run? Why don't you think before you post?
As for your insistance that Slimani is 'the best striker at the club', well, you are entitled to your opinion. I mean, it's ludicrous and clearly unfounded but you are of course entitled to it. It's evident to most clear thinking individuals that, although this could be the case in the future (although I doubt it, personally) it is certainly not the case at present.
Great argument. It didn't work at the beginning of this season did it?
That's why CR had to start changing things.
Still only you would expect Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Vardy and other 30+ year olds to maintain their ability to play a persistent, counter attacking style week in week out especially when they have to play even more games in a season.
I wonder why other top managers have "more than one formation, more than one way" in their philosophies?
You also seem to be kidding yourself that lots of other things went our way last year that just don't normally happen. We hardly had an injury, others team were not outstanding, the bounce of the ball went our way.
And most of all you seem to be inferring that Kanté wasn't a major reason that our system worked. He was far more important to the system than any other player and was replaced by Papy Mendy (oh no he was injured) Andy King.
Kanté has gone on to prove his excellence, The other 10+ players haven't.
