Do you mean exactly like the 'one formation, one way' we played last year when we won the title using a consistent starting eleven and persistent high pressing, counter attacking style pretty much week in, week out? The 'one formation, one way' we played to allow our best striker to fire in 24 goals and complete a record scoring run? Why don't you think before you post?

As for your insistance that Slimani is 'the best striker at the club', well, you are entitled to your opinion. I mean, it's ludicrous and clearly unfounded but you are of course entitled to it. It's evident to most clear thinking individuals that, although this could be the case in the future (although I doubt it, personally) it is certainly not the case at present.

Great argument. It didn't work at the beginning of this season did it?

That's why CR had to start changing things.

Still only you would expect Huth, Morgan, Fuchs, Vardy and other 30+ year olds to maintain their ability to play a persistent, counter attacking style week in week out especially when they have to play even more games in a season.

I wonder why other top managers have "more than one formation, more than one way" in their philosophies?

You also seem to be kidding yourself that lots of other things went our way last year that just don't normally happen. We hardly had an injury, others team were not outstanding, the bounce of the ball went our way.

And most of all you seem to be inferring that Kanté wasn't a major reason that our system worked. He was far more important to the system than any other player and was replaced by Papy Mendy (oh no he was injured) Andy King.

Kanté has gone on to prove his excellence, The other 10+ players haven't.

Ah, I see. The reasoning behind some of the ludicrous things he writes are now becoming evident aren't they.

He must have not read all of the article. Just read snippets of it and then decided to make ludicrous claims. Unheard of.

You guys make me laugh. So I said Benzema instead of another French chappie or Torres. What I said just flies over the top of your head doesn't it CF? It's as though you're a dwarf.

Are you serious? It was a facetious response to your bizarre argument in which you used a completely fictional forward partnership from what I can only assume was a made-up article (or at best an ill informed one), to suggest a way forward for us; a team with a proven winning formula that you'd like to see binned. As for '...the other 10 players not proving their excellence' well, I think they did that last season. Whatever happens, they were exceptional then and will be remembered as such.

Anyway, I'm bored now. Let's just leave this thread to die.

Or B: It suggests that you don't read things properly, make things up and know very little about the game. I'm going for answer B.

Sorry, now I promise to let it die.

Or an ostrich?

It was a BBC article.

You do get really worked up about very little.

By the Way I don't like Ant and Dec either.

This.

If you're all getting angry about people not reading things properly, making things up and knowing very little about the game, I'll just be getting my coat before I see myself out.

you could say the same this year that most teams have been poor look at WBA position and the fact that Chelsea are light years ahead, or is it normal because they are Chelsea?
CR changed things during pre season not one player brought in for the beginning of the season has delivered. Ndidi has however he arrived later, and is doing exactly what Kante did, difference is he can score goals and may become just as good a player as Kante.

Kante was not replaced by King they are two entirely different players King is an offensive midfielder who has been asked over a number of seasons to play defensively.

I agree with your point we have a large number players the wrong side of 30 although you could say that is being addressed with the likes of Chillwell Gray Slimanni and the new lad signed from the non league. But to say at this present moment time that Slimani is a better striker than Vardy IMO just does not stack up.

Slimani is 29 in a few weeks time

I agree that most teams have been middling to poor this season. only Chelsea and Spurs have really looked consistently good (and Spurs were terrible in Europe). That's all the more reason why we should have been challenging for a european spot. Very disappointing.

King replaced Kanté in that he played in the midfield, it was a point to show that Pop was talking out of his ass when he said we should have just continued playing how we did last season at the beginning of this. We couldn't, the midfield was unable to cover the defence and unable to serve the attack - we were unlucky with Mendy's injury and haven't been able to play this way until we got Ndidi up to speed.

It's not being addressed if the players don't play.
