Mahrez wants a bigger club, to play in the Champions League - even if it means he's not going to be first name on the team sheet. I can get my head around that - and I'd wish him well even if the timing sucks. I doubt Man City are thinking of splurging £60m+ on a reserve either. I can see that Mahrez is the kind of player that would interest them too, even though I feel he's got a bit to do. But it's the chance he wants and it's a deal that adds up. I can see it happening and I'm reluctantly coming to terms with that.

That all said, it's not a done deal and I can see there's a good chance of it not happening. Man City may well not want to pay what we're asking just now and could well revisit it in the summer.

When he leaves I think Man City is the club I'd most like to see him at. He'd still be in the Prem, Pep may be able to elevate him to become one of the top players in the world and he'd no doubt win trophies. All we need to worry about though is that we get the right deal for the club and don't want us to feel ripped off like we did with Kante. If Man City at least up the deal around the £70m mark.

On the world it's a bit of a concern how we've got so many potential outgoings and hardly any rumours about anybody coming in to replace them!

But, apart from possibly Mahrez, it is only only deadwood/third choices going out, such as Musa.

If by the end of today only Musa, Ulloa, King and Slimani have gone, are we in dire straights if we bring no replacements?

We have a tighter squad with more of the talented youngsters waiting to move into the squad such as Barnes and Thomas.
