Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Meanwhile, the paper also claims Sunderland have been offered Leeds winger Max Gradel, and would be an alternative to Charles N'Zogbia, should he complete his expected move to Aston Villa. A cheap alternative too - he would apparently cost something like £3.5million.

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that neither Danny Welbeck nor Tom Cleverley will go out on loan this season.

"They won't go on loan again," the United boss confirmed to Press Association Sport.

"Going on loan only serves one purpose; keeping them happy by playing all the time.

"At their ages, it wouldn't do us any good because other clubs would be benefiting from what we could be benefiting from.

"Because of the experience they have had, keeping them now benefits us."

On that note, we'll call it a day.

Hope he gives him a chance then. but I suspect as soon as a top class player becomes available TC will end up further down the pecking order.

SSN reporting that Norwich are making a move for Naughton.

Good move for the player and the club I'd have thought.

He will want to try his hand at a decent season of prem football (I'd have thought he'll play about every game if available) and Norwich get a decent full back.

Not strictly an ex player but Peter Taylor has been appointed manager of the Bahrain national team.
