Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Yak scores again for Blackburn to take them 6 points clear of the drop.

His 15th of the season.

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

N'scores on his debut

He seems to do that a lot. IIRC, he's done it for us and Millwall too. Story of his career - shows a bit of early promise and then fades away almost immediately.

He did it for Scunthorpe too.

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

A total of 3 ex-City players all appearing in one Sports Relief sketch - must be a club record.

Lineker, Savage and Mancini all in the Miranda sketch.

Well one Lesta is at Wembley today for Chesterfield - Jack Lester. With Moussa playing for them as well.

Neither of them finished the match, Lester coming off with groin strain in the first half and Moussa being replaced in the last ten minutes. Both finished on the winning side though - which is good news for di Canio-haters and those who have still not forgiven Swindon.

Some good footage here as Lester presented with the Trophy

Had a good day out watching my home town club win a pot at Wembley for the first time in their 145 year history. Biggest noise of the afternoon (even louder than F**k off, di Canio) came as the big screen replayed John Sheridan and Tommy Wright hugging after the second goal. Oooh Tommy Wright.

An object lesson of a team biding their time, keeping their shape and concentration, whilst a technically superior side played themselves out, and coming strong and direct in the final quarter .... a little Pearson Mk 1 esque if you like.

I wish I could report Franck Moussa played a blinder, but he looked a bit lost (and probably would have been happier playing the tappy-tappy stuff that Swindon were so unsuccessful with), by the time he was withdrawn I'd forgotten he was on the pitch anyway.
