Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Best striker outside the championship has been sent off

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Billy Kee not be joining him though as his manager reckons he is playing well and labelled him as the best striker outside of the Championship

That's not what his manager said at all. He said "On his day, he is the best in the bottom two divisions".

It's quite normal for the BBC to take a quote like that and turn it into something completely different. They appear to employ people who have difficulty understanding plain English.

One ex player celebrating yesterday and looking forward to tomorrows F A Cup draw after this score : Colwyn Bay 2-1 Ossett Town
This was the squad Frank had to pick from and he named himself on the bench
Colwyn Bay (from): Sanna, Taylor, Lea, Meadowcroft, Smyth, Sinclair(o.g) , Crowther, Evans, Matthews, Hopley, Joyce, Darkwah, Ed Moss, Louis Moss, McKenna, Connor, Ellison, Akinbiyi, East

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Martin allen sacked at Gillingham.

From a Gillingham forum - sounds familiar:

A relative of a close friend of mine is heavily involved at the club, he has sworn me to secrecy up to now, but has been describing for well over a year the poisonous atmosphere generated by the ex-manager. Players, coaching staff and office staff were apparently treated appallingly. I was told that they were screamed at, demeaned, ridiculed, and having every action questioned and controlled. Younger players feel that they were routinely bullied.

MA's PR with fans did not match the way he dealt those he worked with.
In the words of my friends relative there will be a bigger party at the club when he leaves than when we went up.

With his history not sure he will get another job at that level

Could easily be relating to Hessenthaler too as he didn't have the best track record of treating his players equally.....

Perhaps you just need to be a **** to manage the Gills? :102:
