This accident happened at the start of last week and at the time Gillingham refused to name the player involved, saying only that it would be obvious who it was when the team-sheet for Saturday's game was announced.

I didn't realise Simon Royce was as old as that and hes made over 350 league appearances!! Considering he spent between 1998 and 2005 (inc his time here) more or less as a reserve he could have had a lot more appearances to his name.

My son has one of his gloves somewhere, coming from the final season at Filbert Street. A friendly guy I thought as I also chatted to him at a pre-season friendly at Hucknall. Hope you get well soon Simon.
