Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

My mate saw the incomparable Junior Lewis playing in the Watford Sunday League. He said that he seemed to have better reading of the game and more time on the ball, which you expect being a City legend.

Can he come back for the play-offs?

Gareth McAuley has been named as Northern Ireland captain for Tuesday night's Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovenia at Windsor Park.

McAuley replaces regular skipper Aaron Hughes who has been ruled out of the match with a shoulder injury.

The 'special' one looking ever so special and haggard...

Gary Megson won at home for the first time and Wednesday fans perhaps feel they will now stay up which will be much to Milan's relief. There was a rumour going around on a Sheffield Forum late last week that Milan was wanting to cut his losses and get rid of the Owls!:icon_bigg

Michael Morrison has been criticised quite a bit by the fans and recently not been in the team. Today he wasn't even on the bench and with Megson saying this below perhaps his days at Wednesday are numbered. As he was probably a Milan purchase (and we all remember those) perhaps he will only stay if Megson gets the sack.

They might not be the best 11 players on the ball that started, but your starting point has to be just honesty and you know what you're getting.
"The team was picked today just on getting 11 individuals out there that are honest, that I know will give it their best for Sheffield Wednesday."

Playing a Ryan at left back? Must be some sort of Manchester thing.

Feckin' hell - he's come on for the last 20 minutes.

Hes just come on with 20 minutes left. Now thats depressing. :icon_eek:

Well, they are 5-0 up. Where's the risk? Even he can't mess that up, or can he?

One own goal, four instances of the same winger knocking the ball past him and going on to score, six instances of him being woefully out of position.

Okay (copyright Macky), but didn't Mancini sub him at 5-4? And then Bruce took him in on an emergency loan and put him on again and made him believe he was still playing for City.

Excellent report. He should come and work for the Mockery.

Chambers (1 in 17) showing Vassell-like form - Luke O'Neill not even booked and AFAIK didn't mouth off to the ref either.

With mid-table mediocrity more or less a stone cold certainty, shouldn't we be allowing these young 'uns to be crap in our team in the end of season run in?
