Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Talking of the Owls their manager, who of course used to be ours, is saying how it is about the Bolton fans
Former Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson has hit out at the club's supporters, claiming that they did not like him - and he did not like them.

Gary Megson is 'In the Spotlight' on BBC Radio Manchester on Thursday, 26 January at 1800GMT talking about his time in management and the media's perception of him. If you miss the show you can listen again via the iPlayer or download the podcast.

Wonderful, they'll be able to swap memory sticks on their sofas.

Former England and Aston Villa footballer Lee Hendrie was declared bankrupt on Friday.

A petition for bankruptcy was brought against the midfielder by HM Revenue and Customs on December 19, the High Court was told.

The 34-year-old, who did not attend the hearing in central London, has not paid back any of his debts.

Mrs Registrar Derrett heard that there had been no contact from Hendrie, no letters had been returned and no payments made.

She said she was making the bankruptcy order "in the absence of any contact".

Hendrie, who also played for Sheffield United, Leicester and Blackpool and is now signed with Kidderminster Harriers, reportedly earned £24,000 a week at the height of his career.

The former Premier League player, who won his only England cap in 1998, has homes in Solihull, West Midlands, and Rowington, Warwickshire. He was signed for Bandung FC in Indonesia last year on a two-year contract but returned before the end of 2011.

Oh no he doesn't!

Forest Green Rovers have brought in reinforcements ahead of their second clash with table-topping opposition in less than a week.

With Rovers having netted only twice in their last seven starts despite dominating the opposition, powerful 27-year-old striker Tommy Wright was also taking a medical at The New Lawn this afternoon, providing Hockaday with another attacking option.

Already 32 games into a long season, Hockaday said: “Our midfield players are starting to show a little bit of wear and tear, Keiron Forbes was taken off as a precaution the other night; obviously Al Bangura is out at the moment and also James Rowe. So we needed a bit of reinforcement in the middle.

“Michael Pook has been training with us for the last three months while playing for Maidenhead (in the Blue Square South), so he should fit straight in.”

Former Leicester striker Tommy Wright comes to Forest Green having spent time at Aberdeen, Barnsley and Darlington over the last decade, and more recently lining up for Kidderminster and Luton Town in the Blue Square Premier.

“Tommy spent five years at Leicester and played at Aberdeen with Jared Hodgkiss in the SPL. We need more striking power and he’s a big strong centre forward who should help us find the back of the net more.”

“These signings are a statement of intent. If we get a run of games on, who knows want will happen.”

How can you trust this as reliable? They don't even seem to know that he's only been playing for Aberdeen. Kidderminster? Luton? What the **** are they on about?

Kevin Poole outside the ground today signing some old scrapbooks. I'd forgotten just how untall he is!

I'd already bought my band before the kick off. If I'd known Frankie was coming out I'd have waited!

Alex Cisak just dropped a clanger for Oldham. Mix up with his defender.

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Stephen Dawson signs for Barnsley, no doubt as replacement for Drinkwater.
