Presumably they were worried that it would be difficult to find their tent amongst the hundreds of identical ones and needed to ensure that they got back in plenty of time to get their Holland and Senegal strips on for tomorrow afternoon's game.

Like it or not, it’s promoting something that is currently illegal in the host country. Of course they’re not going to allow it.

Is promoting inclusion and sending a message against discrimination of any kind actually illegal in Qatar? Doubtful. Perhaps there would be some sort of way the Qatari officials could be translate and thus determine it Illegal, but again, doubtful.

What would be great is if all players decided to wear the armband but, once again, doubtful.

The ironic thing is that by threatening a booking for wearing the armband, it draws way more attention to it than it would have received in the first place, so in that regard, I salute you FIFA.
