that was 23rd dec 1984, i remember the game well. super result grand sunday afternoon out.
but

after the game , i was walking home across the upperton road bridge, when
a load of lads ran passed me. moments later i heard the sound of smashing windows and saw what looked like a hundred or more lads kicking the braincell out of each other.
i thought id be smart and took evasive action onto sheffield street
then before i knew what was happening i was surrounded by half a dozen or so covscum scum and took a severe kicking. theres was not alot i could do , they had me pinned up against a wall . after a good 4 punches to my left cheek i must have lost conciousness. and was woken up a few minutes later by an old bloke who lived in the house where my head had just been ricocheting off its front wall.

a night in the royal resulted in several stitches to a shattered jaw, which needed constructive surgery to re-sit the hinge , the loss of several back teeth, and 50% deafness which is permanent damage.
the local plod didnt give a shit, didnt have a clue, and were crapping themselves during the melay anyway.

anyway, back to first match.
1974 or was 75, home against birmingham city ,
we lost 1-6 and its been downhill ever since.

If i remember it was 6-2, with Kenny Burns doing the damage. That game was on Gary Newbons Star Soccer, a program which used to entertain us on a Sunday way before Sky was ever heard of. In that actual match it was said that Leicester played in the wrong boots because of a frosty pitch, hence Birmingham ran rings round us. Not sure if they played in trainers, where as city played in normal studded boots.

My first introduction to football - I couldn't watch MOTD until I was older as it was on too late - Who could forget the great Hugh Johns!!!

....you ever went to.

Mid-late 70's for me. A 1-1 draw against Liverpool, and if i remember Keith Weller scored ours, and i think Kevin Keegan scored for the reds. After that i was hooked.

1986 - LCFC 2 - 1 Liverpool

Think McAllister scored for us, Dalgleish for them. :038:

That was the game that that ba$^ard Kenny Burns:icon_evil ( now plying his trade on Heart106 with Birch) scored an hat trick as the game was played on ice and he was the only one who could keep his feet:icon_eek:

My first game was in the early 60's 1964 or 1965 with my Dad against Northampton Town in their only season in the top flight Not sure the score BUT there were a few goals I think.

Oxford at home in 93/94 can't remember much of it, think we lost 2-0 was only 10 had many a drunk night since, slowly getting rid of all memories

It was 1-1. 'few' rather than 'a few', I think.

I'm bringing my 8 year old daughter to the Plymouth game. I obviously want to protect her little ears from the worst of the language....
Is the family stand better with that in mind or does it go on all over the stadium?
Anyone help?

I remember that game vividly..possibly the most boring 4-4 draw ever. Did Sticks get a hat-trick?

It was the day after Boxing Day. Sticks got 1. But you're right - it was boring!

6- two...wow a bonus goal, i always thought it was 6-1, and now i feel ashamed for assuming that we were twice as bad as we were on the day.

and i do remember it being bloody cold.
