And all the chanting monkeys... The same ***** that boo yakubu who is the best striker we've seen in a few years!

You are definitely taking the Michael.

Yakubu is a lazy fat tub of lard, obviously not fit and scared stiff to exert himself fully in case he damages his Achilles tendon again. We only got him because Moyes saw him for what he is.

Big mistake if we try and sign him permanently unless he changes his ways.

A very average first half in which neither team really did anything, second half you lot probably shaded it but how far offside was Vassell for your second ??? And as for Clattenburg - what a twat.

Third goal = snigger snigger

Yer, he should be runnin around like a headless chicken showin his pashun. That's wot makes a good footballer. :icon_roll

So, you'd basically want him to be a completely different player to the way he has played for his entire career before you'd consider him good enough to play for us?

Sven knows exactly what the problem is. I've just listened to his post match interview and while in general he is happy with the football we play he said that sometimes we have to be "much more ugly". He's right.

I like to see football played the way we did when we were on our good run at the turn of the year. It was the best football I'd see us play since McGhee was boss. But we do need to learn to play ugly when other teams are sticking men behind the ball.

Most of his comments were about how many goals we concede, although obviously he named no names he did speak about having good footballers at the back who are bad at spotting danger.

I think most of us agree that we are crap at the back and that we need a plan b when the opposition won't let us play. It's a good thing that Sven thinks the same. We've scored plenty of goals this season, so I don't think we have too much to worry about going forward. If, as his interview suggests, Sven is going to spend the summer shoring the defence up and making us a bit more physical then we can be optimistic about next season.

Jimmy Neilsen at the pre-season at Quorn a few years ago....

Six feet Four and played like a timid little lamb... disgraceful!

Thanks so much for sharing that. I'm now in two minds whether to go to bed thinking of Jimmy Neilson or will I just nail her senseless before she has a chance to realise what is going on? It's a tough choice

Perhaps some good will come from this game.

Its been weeks since I thought we had a realistic chance of reaching the play offs and now there is no more scope for anyone to continue with any delusions.

A lot of money wasted; a lot of poor decisions by the manager and the outcome is that we have lost as many games as Barnsley and conceded more goals than Crystal Palace.

Sven needs to bring in players who can compete successfully at this level not those who see Leicester as just a phase in their own development before they can get back to London. As for Yak - of course he's got ability but top goal scorers are as rare as rocking horse sh-t and if he was in the right mind set to put in a proper shift then Moyes wouldn't have loaned him out. I feel sorry for Weale -but he can't be blamed for everything - just not good enough and its a hopeless situatiopn when the opposition know that either of our keepers are totally unreliable.

Bruma is shit, Yakubu was an absolute disgrace throughout, Ben Mee was a refreshing positive and a great attacking force, Vitor was decent, the midfield lacks any movement or ability to take a man on and create something, Vassell was a thorn in their side.

Sign - Mee, Vitor, Naughton.

Yakubu has scored 7 goals in 16 starts. If we had the chance to sign him we would be foolish to turn it down. He would bag 20 goals a season in this league no problem. I can't believe that people would seriously turn that down. What would they prefer, Martin Waghorn, running round loads, clenching his fist and kissing his badge, yet only scoring 10 goals?

Still say the Yakubu goal tally is a red herring, heavily boosted by scoring a hat-trick at Middlesbrough from a total yardage of about 8. He's was put through by Kamara yesterday and simply no speed in the tank. His Achilles injury has finished him off IMO.

The third goal at Middlesbrough was a quality strike and the goal at Derby was pure class. I have seen enough to convince me that he is more than good enough at this level. People criticise his work rate but he consistently gets in good positions. I am sure that given a good pre season and also having better supply (from the wings), he would score 20 minimum next season.

You are correct Haz, unless he has skined 4 players and rocketed a shot into the top corner, then those types of goals don't count. :icon_roll Fryatt would have missed 2 of them and we'd have lost 3-1, yet he would have been praised for trying and we'd have been told not even top Premier League strikers put away all their chances.

Yaks job isn't to run around alot, skin players etc, he isn't that type of player anymore, his job is to be big and strong, hold the ball up, batter the defence and bring the runners into play whilst poaching the odd goal here and there from 8yrds. This is why I think we need someone quick up front with him to do his running for him so Yak can concentrate on what he does best. I think then Yak would get his 20 goals a season.

Not very often I disagree with Hazz but I'm with you here. The most frustrating thing yesterday was the monkeys around me giving him abuse because he wasn't running around like DJ feckin' Campbell used to do all the time (to no effect whatsoever).

The third goal at Boro he nearly cocked up taking a woeful touch and ended up making far harder than he should have. No debating the Derby strike.

Who would you prefer we signed? (Being realistic of course)

It was effective, the opposition got a freekick for offside everytime we went forward.

I don't rate Yakubu that highly. If we could get on a free and on a similar wage to our other players then maybe he'd be worth it. The 40k a week could be spent on 2 or 3 better/ up and coming players.
