I have no problem with the Mods. In the two cases I know about, Innocent and Macky, I thought the Mods were quite right.
It seems to me that to be offended by bad language is what people who use it want. I have no proble with people who use it as an almost involuntary exclamation under stress. To use it in writing seems to be a rather pathetic desire to shock - "Mummy Mummy look at me." To call Dennis Wise a c____ is meaningless; why is he a c____, why don't you like him. To call Dennis Wise a thug makes sense.
However, I know a number of people who do find obscene language offensive and since in my experience they tend to be thoughtful it would be a pity if they were put off.
To be angry on an internet forum with people whose name you do not know and who do not know your name seems rather pathetic. Football does grab your emotions and I have been angry about the pushing out of Nigel Pearson and about Paulo Sousa's comments after matches but it would seem strange for me to blame people on the forum for this.
In Mackys case his comments were so over the top and so disproportionate to the topic that I cannot believe his anger was really about anyone on the forum at all.
Luckily the censorship in this forum has been mild and liberal. Yesterday a young lady told me that I should not use the abbreviation WTF because I was not cool enough.:icon_bigg
