He wasn't that good, like BF said elsewhere made a lot of mistakes. Would be sad to see him go though, just wouldn't be the end of the world.

I agree that he is no world beater, I actually think he can get shown up for pace quite easily but his reading of the game usually makes us for this. However, he is the best centre half we have at the minute and if we sold him I doubt that we would sign someone as good as Kis, more like an up and coming player or loan or a golden oldie freebie.

Would maybe settle for a N'Gotty and De Zeeuw partnership but there is not a chance that they would last playing 46+ games a season and be at their best.

I think we need at least one more centre-half for next season. This gu seems like a decent player so I would be happy to see him at the Walkers.

Many players who are out of contract this summer will have contracts that run until July 1st. There will be a lot more movement then I'd have thought.

I think all the activity is based around MA style of play and the least important appears to be the midfield. Looking forward to seeing what excitement we are in for this season. People with season tickets at around the half line aren't going to see much this year I suspect only the ball flying passed them.

We tried playing without a midfield last season, it clearly didnt work.

My Brentford contacts tell me that at times they got fed up with the ball being passed back and forth along the half way line, rather than being passed forward. So perhaps not a bad place for a season ticket if your priority is to see a lot of the ball close up.

That fits in well with the long ball merchant theory being banded around. Did the midfielders jump up and catch it to pas it along the halfway line?

Not so sure it does - I was responding to the suggestion that the ball was regularly lumped from one penalty area to the other. What I was told suggests that on occasion the fans got frustrated by players fannying around in midfield & getting nowhere, when they wanted to see it hoofed forward.

Personally I don't care too much as long as whatever tactics are used

(a) keep the ball out of our goal
(b) put it in the other one

In case you didn't realise, I was being sarcastic (homer quote)

In Stephen Hughes's eyes this would be known as attacking football.

I will be happy to see our team playing with confidence, passion and enthusiasm.

In terms of tactics/style and strategy, I do not give a flying f*ck whether we play like Bolton or Arsenal as long as we win most of our games.

Keegan employed a very simple philosophy - you just have to score more goals than they do. 5 - 4 was as good a result as 1 - 0.

TBH mate, I think your in a minority of one there. Everyone would much rather us play shit hot football and lose all the time again rather than actually win a game. God forbid we do such a thing!

Which was of course the mirror image of the George graham philosophy - let in less goals than the opposition. I recall him saying once when challenged about "boring Arsenal" regularly winning 1-0 something to the effect of "If you keep a clean sheet in every game you have 42 points and every game you score in is 2 more"
