From BBC

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson says he has had no official approach for striker Matty Fryatt and insists he has no interest in selling him anyway

No comfort there then. The statement that there has been an "no official approach" is a pretty strong implication that there has been an informal approach.

Let's hope that Tuesday next comes without a nasty sting in the tail.

Nigel has made it clear that he wants Fryatt to stay. If he is sold then Milan is publicly overuling the manager. The precedent from Hasselbank is that Milan backs the manager even when the manager is a fool and changes his mind at the last moment. I would be surprised if Milan risks upsetting Nigel Pearson when Nigel has been spending the money so wisely. We may prefer Nigel Pearson to Martin Allen but I would guess that Milan and his accountant feel even more strongly.

I don't think we can over-state the influence of banks, accountants and owners who need to balance the books in the way football runs.

The game is primarily about money and any player has his price whether the club is Man *** , Everton, Leicester or Hinckley ***. It's all how question of how 'much not' nor 'whether'.
