Just back....

I fate Fulham Football Club, they had a whole stand closed tonight, they made as little effort off the pitch as their side seemed to make (2nd half certainly) on it and yet again they deal us with a killer blow.

The thing I was actually thinking at 2-2 though was 'not extra-time' which I think says everything really, winning at Fulham tonight would have paled in to irrelevance had we lost at Cheltenham on Sat'Day in my opinion. We are to get promoted this year - that's all any of us want.

So, on to my view of players' performances, but prior another word for the Blue Army who again sang all night, suppported the players and in the Max Gradel song have totally out-done themselves. In all, tonight made me feel that the green shoots are there. And BG, sorry pal, Chris Powell looked very tidy...

Martin - 8 Not at fault for anything, coped well when needed to.

Gilbert - 8 Good performance, skilful and fast, looked far happier when Gradel came on in the second half
Morrison - 7 Would like to see the goals, I think perhaps a few lessons learned for him tonight, but still solid. Arguably the best CB I have seen at the club for a while.
Tunchev - 7 Gave away some needless free-kicks, but grew as the game went on, another solid looking player.
Powell - 8 Good debut, square pegs and that, good distribution and started linking with Dyer well

Dickov - 9 Mainly for his second half performance when NP threw him up front alongside Howard, for me this is the pairing to get us up.
King - 7 Dropped off Bullard too much, but took goal well, and some of his passing was sublime.
Wesolowski - 7 Good to see him at it again, however both second half Fulham goals needed midfielders defending better for my money
Dyer - 8 Excellent player, exciting, quick and not afraid to have a go...

Howard - 9 MOTM, absolutely brilliant. Got to every header, distributed well, unplayable front-man when he's like that.
Fryatt - 6 Dreadful.

S.
Gradel - 8 For the impact, pace and skill. Special.
Sounds very promising.

how does the gradel song go?

'Oh Maxxy Gradel,
You're the love of my life,
oh Maxxy Gradel,
I'd let you shag my wife,
oh Maxxy Gradel,
I love silky skills too...'

To the tune of that song 'I love you baby...' (sorry, can't remember what it was called)...

Thing is Fludie, we're kind of used to seeing City raise their game - Chelski and Villa last year for example....and there will be some who claim this is another false dawn...

BUT

There are players out there who really seem to want to do well for the club, and I believe Nigel Pearson is the man to get us back on track. At the end tonight he got all the players over and applauded the wonderful support....it was good.

I agree but am getting scared that another club is gonna steal him and we'll return to the circus of the last few years. It would be just our luck.

Also we owe Fulham a thrashing for these late goals they keep scoring.

I'm on the train on the way home. I have that feeling that I should be feeling gutted but I'm not - it was a game we could afford to lose; a competition we can afford to be out of. Let's just hope that we can take that second half spirit forward with us into the League games.

Not convinced that Martin is a better keeper than Henderson; much of his kicking was atrocious.

Powell well able to cope.

Dyer improving game by game and showed an amazing turn of speed with some regularity this evening.

I hope Andy King's goal will give him a bit of a lift.

Hard to believe that Fryatt if the division's top scorer when he plays like he did tonight.

Gradel gave us the hope that we needed at the start of the second half.

And the fans were terrific - about 1,700 of them and sang from start to finish.

Bring on the Cheltenham and Hartlepool!!

This was brilliant - it will catch on.

Just got back to my flat - scarcely have I been prouder to be a Leicester fan than tonight. Despite the result, it really was a great night. We played really well, we played attacking football, we showed desire, effort, application, togetherness, everything that you could want out of a team, I thought Pearson's tactics were spot on, the fans were superb and the players (for once) seemed to genuinely appreciate our efforts and were gutted to have not got a result for us.

Happy.

Quote from the BBC match report:

"The late drama was desperately harsh on Leicester, who more than matched their Premier League opponents at Craven Cottage."

Spot on, however none of it matters if we don't get 3 points at Cheltenham.

Arguably a dignified exit was the best thing that could happen. The league is the priority and we've got the FA, League and Johnstone Paint Trophy clouding the issue. That's a lot of games.

I actually feel more positive about us gaining promotion after tonight. Fulham got out of jail.

Im agreeing with you there, forget the cups its all about the league. We gave a good account of ourselves and now can take the performance as a confidence boost in the fact we can match premiership opposition. Kick on to the next League game

I agree. We were excellent and for the majority of tonight were much better than a drab Fulham side. I can't fault anyone and if we can play that well consistently week in week out we should be able to run away with this league. They all have the ability as shown tonight.

Perhaps if with 10-15 to go we had brought kish on and maybe took a striker off we would have closed the space down and denied Fulhams winning shots - but feck it NP saw we were playing well and rightly so thought we'd get the third.

I enjoyed it all and hoping the players keep it going through to Saturday.

Did anyone else think we'd scored the winner at the end from listening to RL's commentary? I was listening to the end of it in the car and screamed like crazy because it sounded like we had scored, but was then so pissed off when he said Danny Murphy.

Good performance from the sound of it. We always give the Prem opposition a good game in the cup, but the same thing happens again and again. Villa, Chelsea, Fulham, Fulham - 4 times in 2 years.

i prefer the Tunchev song

"He was a refugee, but now he's quality oh Tunchev ohhhhhhhh"

Anyway the game, played great in the second half and Gradel raped their defence for the first 20 mins of it, Dickov was brilliant, Howard looked a different player from last season, but you could tell no team wanted extra time as Gilbert was running halfway up the pitch to try and get the winner after they equalised.

Would have been great to win after such a good game, but not too disappointed we lost.
