looked a much better attacking side after the goals. First half we were strong and organised but no real creativeness going forward. Only grumble was the amount of space Bullard had to score his, but fair play it looked a belter. At 2-2 still had a chance to win it can't remember if it was Dyer or Gradel.

A good Leicester crowd in full voice. Didn't hear the Fulham few all night.

"3-2 down we don't give a feck we're Leicester boys and were goin straight up"

Just got back in, disappointed to have lost but not too bothered about going out of the competition to be honest... absolutely fantastic performance.

We actually played really nice passing, attacking football too which is always good! And amazing to see a Leicester manager making a substitution that pays off! Fryatt was very disappointing first half, and bringing Gradel on gave the team a different look tbh.

First time I've seen us this season, and what a difference it is to see us playing with 2 decent wingers. Gradel and Dyer were the stars of the show for me. Constantly offered an outlet for us when defending, their pace was a constant threat and Fulham didn't really seem to have an answer for them. Gradel will get most of the praise, but Dyer made a great run in the first half and it seemed like Fulham just couldn't deal with their pace!

Thought everyone did well tonight, but from what I've heard I think Hobbs should be back in for Tunchev. Didn't play badly, but gave away a couple of needless freekicks and I think is a bit over-aggressive (in terms of holding onto players etc).

Powell did well... didn't get forward loads, but that might change against League 1 teams with less of an attacking threat anyway, but he was solid when needed in defence. Made a couple of nice cross field passes in the 2nd half to find Gradel as well.

I need to sleep, but overall great night out, happy despite the loss, great atmosphere and feel really positive about the way the team is shaping up.

Just have to mention how utterly dire Fulham's fans were though... took 84 minutes until they even attempted to sing, which was only one quick burst of "you only sing when your winning", which just prompted us all to sing more anyway.... unlike their fans who just didn't seem to care when we mocked them ;)

Oh, and I spent so long watching the subs warm up in front of me, trying to work out who the hell our number 30 was... just looked on the OS and realised it was Craig King! No wonder I didn't know!

Said from the start that we needed to stop Murphy and Bullard from shooting from distance, because they're both clearly dangerous from range... thought we actually did really, really well at closing them down and making sure they didn't get a chance for most of the match... until they got 1 each! :(

So undeserved... we were the only team that deserved to win that game. Don't think our goal should've been disallowed either... Schwarzer just fumbled it.

'Oh Maxxy Gradel,
You're the love of my life,
oh Maxxy Gradel,
I'd let you shag my wife,
oh Maxxy Gradel,
I love silky skills too...'

To the tune of that song 'I love you baby...' (sorry, can't remember what it was called)...

Haha, I was sat near the front and heard the "oh Maxxy Gradel" bits but couldn't work out what the inbetween bits were. Love it.

Thats what I initially thought, but I think Howard was leaning in to him.

A euphamism for "knocked him into the net". Unfortunately it's no longer acceptable as it was in Nat Lofthouse's day.:icon_bigg

Great all round performance with 2 well made and well taken goals. As others have said , gutted yet again, especially as, IMO, the actual team performance was, IMO, better than last year at Stamford Bridge or Fulham the year before.

Mrs G & her mates agreed we deserved the win and did to them exactly what they had done to Arsenal on Saturday - stopped them from dictating the game and (until the last 7 minutes) kept their midfield ineffective. They simply couldn't believe the "Max and Lloyd show".

Probably a good game to lose - certainly better than going on for another round and taking a hiding from someone. Just hope they are not all knackered for saturday.

Just back....

I fate Fulham Football Club, they had a whole stand closed tonight, they made as little effort off the pitch as their side seemed to make (2nd half certainly) on it and yet again they deal us with a killer blow.

The thing I was actually thinking at 2-2 though was 'not extra-time' which I think says everything really, winning at Fulham tonight would have paled in to irrelevance had we lost at Cheltenham on Sat'Day in my opinion. We are to get promoted this year - that's all any of us want.

So, on to my view of players' performances, but prior another word for the Blue Army who again sang all night, suppported the players and in the Max Gradel song have totally out-done themselves. In all, tonight made me feel that the green shoots are there. And BG, sorry pal, Chris Powell looked very tidy...

Martin - 8 Not at fault for anything, coped well when needed to.

Gilbert - 8 Good performance, skilful and fast, looked far happier when Gradel came on in the second half
Morrison - 7 Would like to see the goals, I think perhaps a few lessons learned for him tonight, but still solid. Arguably the best CB I have seen at the club for a while.
Tunchev - 7 Gave away some needless free-kicks, but grew as the game went on, another solid looking player.
Powell - 8 Good debut, square pegs and that, good distribution and started linking with Dyer well

Dickov - 9 Mainly for his second half performance when NP threw him up front alongside Howard, for me this is the pairing to get us up.
King - 7 Dropped off Bullard too much, but took goal well, and some of his passing was sublime.
Wesolowski - 7 Good to see him at it again, however both second half Fulham goals needed midfielders defending better for my money
Dyer - 8 Excellent player, exciting, quick and not afraid to have a go...

Howard - 9 MOTM, absolutely brilliant. Got to every header, distributed well, unplayable front-man when he's like that.
Fryatt - 6 Dreadful.

S.
Gradel - 8 For the impact, pace and skill. Special.

I agree with with everything except Howard. In comparison to Dickov, he looked weak and disinterested. Dyer and in the second half Gradel, were excellent. While I have doubts about Powell - slow, did not close people down and offered little - while Gilbert was different class.
No one can be pleased with result, but we looked really good. This is the only game I've seen of the season, so I have nothing to compare, but not once did we launch panic balls upfront, most of the good play was on the ground and the wing play made us attractive to watch. Only had two concerns, Dickov playing as a winger did not work and centre mid looked a little lightweight. But against Bullard thats no disgrace.

I agree with most of that, except I thought Howard played really well... and I've never really been a fan of his, but he went some way to change that last night. Won pretty much everything in the air (even when he came up against Hangeland), and was a crucial part of a few good moves.

Agree about the centre mids, particularly Weso I think didn't play that well, but thats against a quality midfield and they did close them down well for a lot of the game.

Again though, big credit to Pearson... great to see a Leicester manager making subs pro-actively, rather than reactionary when its too late.

Man U sing that to Owen Hargreaves.

Aha...

No matter though, works better for Gradel.

True - Mrs G can't stand Hargreaves.

Mind, having found out what the words were casts a whole new meaning on her comment after the game that maxie would be really good if he was a couple of inches bigger....

One can always trust Mrs G for such an astute observation.

Nolt bothered that we are out,not important IMO

I agree HF. Feel quite proud in the manner of the defeat but it's not important in the long term scheme of things.

Isn't it a shame though that cup football is now a poor second to everything else and everyone's priority is about the league. I can remember a time when Fulham would have got a decent crowd for a league cup tie, even against a 3rd division side. Who remembers when Swindon then Div 3 won it beating Arsenal in the final? Don't think anything like that would happen now. Cup Football RIP.
