Melton, if you're blaming Stowell for how bad the other keepers are, presumably you're singing his praises from the rooftops about how good Fulop has been with him as his GK coach......?

No not at all, Fulop came here as a very good goalkeeper and hasn't been influenced by Stowell at all.

But the other keepers HAVE been influenced by Stowell - for the worse?

Come on, you talk shit sometimes Melts but usually you make some sense....

I still find it odd that people think Hendo is fine as a number 2, but then are certain we will lose because he'll play. People very much under-rate Henderson's ability and try to destroy his confidence like virtually every other player at the club.

I also can't believe some people wan't Casino jimmy or Rab to play when Casino has already stated he is leaving in jan, and has the permission of the club to do so, and Rab was sent back from Wycombe.

I'll hand the running over to you then Des.

Why is Mike Stowell a good goalkeeping coach, and how come I've got it so wrong?

I for one do not believe Mike Stowell has had ANY influence over any goalkeeper we have had here - It's simply a case of the goalkeeper's playing at their level throughout their time here, and all the other keeper's other than Fulop are simply not good enough.

And because Stowell has so little impact on them, that's what makes him poor in my eyes.

I'm not claiming that Stowell is good or bad, I just think it's ridiculous to claim that he makes a negative impact on three of our keepers, who are crap, but has no impact whatsoever on the one keeper we have who is good.

How easy it is to turn it round and say that Stowell is having a MAGICAL effect on our keepers! Look, he's had a few months to work with them and - look how good Fulop is! Stowell must be the best coach we've ever had!

You could apply the same warped logic to just about anything in order to turn an argument to your side. It's a load of bollocks IMO Melts. :icon_cool

Your argument makes perfect sense Des, and indeed you are 100% correct.

Just one quicky though, where did I recently say that Mike Stowell has had a negative effect on our three keepers?

That is the basis on which I surrender and of you winning this debate, I hope you can find it :icon_wink

:102:

Not word for word but the implication is pretty clear.

Do I win a prize? :icon_bigg
I blame him for not doing his job and coaching these into better goalkeepers, that's what he's paid to do.

I didn't say he's had a negative effect on them, he's had a neutral effect on them. He has not influenced them one squidgy widgey little bit.

I think we probably share the prize TBH :058:

We have just lost the only player that 90% of people on this forum would keep.

We have also just the only player that is keeping us out of the relegation zone.

I think the reaction is one to be expected and perfectly justified.
Even if he stayed, on his own he would not have saved us from the inevitable.

I think his departure is one of the most predictable events that could have happened during the season.

Not for somebody like me who obviously doesn't understand the true definition of "season long loan"

There you go then:
Rule 48

48.1.1 subject to the proviso that the duration of a Standard Loan must be the time between two registration periods, standard loans can be for half a season or a full season. Any recall clause requiring the early termination of a standard loan can only be included in a full season loan and this can only be activated in the second (January) registration period.

Re: Fulop Recalled

Not really

Especially when compared to those sad hysterical queens who wet their pants over some (possibly fake) letter that Holloway penned to some disgruntled Plymouth fan that, even if he did write it, really said nothing of any consequence whatsoever..........
I find your post quite sad - a pretty pointless, humourless personalised reply that takes itself and the internet a little bit too seriously.

Bless.
