They held the equestrian events in Sweden during the Melbourne Olympics due to quarantine laws (I think off the top of my head)

He really is a twat.
It could be either one country and 12 stadiums, or one stadium in 12 or 13 cities.
:102: And will those cities each be in a different country? Or will it literally be one stadium that somehow manages to be in 12 or 13 cities at once?
I have said 12 or 13 host cities, it could be 24 or 32.
32? 32?!?!? Are you ****ing mental?!?
In these days of cheap air travel anything is possible.
Yes, anything is possible. You could further expand the European Championship tournament to 256 teams. You could invite club sides, non-FIFA members, African nations, extra-terrestrials.
It is the political decision that needs to be made. We wouldn't have to build stadiums or airports. That could be important in an economic crisis.
Yeah, that's how you fix an economic crisis: stop spending money, shy away from projects that create thousands of jobs :thumbs_up And spread the tournament across the continent so the fans can't follow their team. Good plan.

Personally I am all for development of a permanent Olympic park in Greece, moving it around makes little sense

Platini really is clueless. Cheap air travel? Yeah, the day after the event. Airlines surely wouldn't jack up their prices where demand is heavy would they? Oh, hold on, that's the business model of the budget airlines. Still, he'll be OK in his private UEFA jet, sitting in first class with the hookers, booze and cocaine. Not that I'm jealous or anything, mind.

We may have a winner, yes. A few hundred miles is one thing, but half a planet seems a bit silly.

Get in there!!!!!!111

First thing I've ever won on TB, can't wait for the end of year awards now. There is a prize, isn't there?

Platini wants to succeed Blatter at FIFA. The prime requirement for this job is the ability to come up with really stupid ideas and to introduce pointless rule changes. Platini must now be odds on favourite.

On this matter maybe, but as regards the use of technology, I believe he is right.

It has to be all encompassing or nothing at all.

Take the Ukraine goal that wasn't. Goal line technology may well have given it as a goal but the offside in the build up has been totally missed.
Mind you that would have pleased Sepp Blatter!

Surely any improvement in the accuracy of decisions is a step in the right direction?

It's quite unusual for a goal being incorrectly given as over/not over the line that had also had another incorrect decision in the passage of play that a TV replay would have picked up.

How many times per season, never mind per game, is goal line technology really needed?
I can't think of once down the KP/Walkers/Filbert Street.

If a team says they get relegated due to a goal not being given in a certain game. I say bollox, being relegeated is because you've been shite throughout a season, not just unlucky in 1 game.

There've been several occasions at the Walkers / KPS where goal line technology would have made a difference to the result.
