Seems like he's going ...

Leicester City loanee Gelson Fernandes set for January exit

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed on-loan midfielder Gelson Fernandes is set to leave the club.

Fernandes signed a season-long loan deal for former Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, having previously played for him at Manchester City.

Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "Gelson made it clear that when the window was open, if it was possible to move away he would like to.

"He's been very, very professional. I have no problem with that."

The 25-year-old had a season on loan at Serie A side Chievo earlier in his career and has been linked with a move to Udinese.

"It will only happen if certain criteria are met but there is truth in that speculation," added Pearson.

Leicester City can confirm that Gelson Fernandes has expressed a desire to terminate his season-long loan from French club Saint Etienne.

As the agreement was due to run until the end of the season, the Club will make every effort to facilitate this request subject to mutual cancellation terms being agreed with all parties.

Who would ever have thought that Gelson Fernandes wasn't good enough to get into our mediocre Championship team.

Shows just how far we have come.

Oh..................

Sounds like his heart wasn't in it since SGE left. Half expecting Johnson to follow suit.

Definitely expecting to see midfielders come in in January especially if Johnson does return to ManCity.

Best midfield performance of the season was against Derby:

Abe, Gelson, King, Danns.

They took the piss.
Lets be fair, who wouldn't have taken the piss that day. Derby were woeful.

So maybe Pearson isn't completely biased in his selection. Fernandes wanted out from the off and I predict that Johnson is also in the same position. Danns on the other hand, has no consistentcy and has flattered to deceive so far. Not really much left to pick from then - Wellens, King, Abe, Dyer and Gallagher it is then.

He may well return to Man City Professor - unfortunately for him he has only a slightly better chance of getting a game for them than I have. He needs to play now if he ever intends or his fit enough to ply his trade as a professional footballer. Guessing I doubt if he will get much joy either in Championship football too fast and furious (except us obviously)- a trip to the land of Beckham and Uncle Sam possibly?
