Because of the managerial honeymoon period firstly but secondly he's a bloke around the club whose respected. Although these players are crap, they are capable of mid-table finish when confident and it's all about building the confidence at this stage of the season. Being respected the players will listen and want to learn. Taggart will have the fans on his side meaning that the players can no longer hide behind the manager.
Most of all, he's shown willingness to coach, being in a small capacity at the club coachwise means he knows certain players attitudes etc. and he learnt off one of the best managers around for man management.
The season has descend into five cup finals, it doesnt apply how good they are in terms of quality, it's about results. Everyone would take three 1-0 victories now.
Taggart for me is the type of bloke who will do a good short term job in motivating the current lot.
